In reference to this thread: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...?highlight=bmw
Meet Allison, y'all:

2008 Vista Blue Ford Mustang GT Convertible
Got her December 10th with 5 miles on her and I already almost have 6000 miles on her. That's how much I love cruising in the hills of Texas with her.
Stats:
4.6L OHC V8 Engine
~325 Flywheel horsepower, probably putting about 270'ish to the ground.
Mods:
C&L Cold Air Intake
Brenspeed 93 Octane Tune
Teflon Based Paint Coating (See how she shines?)
Mods to Come:
3:73 or 4:10 gears (I haven't decided yet)
Possible Mods to Come:
White Racing Stripes? (I got them; not sure whether I want to put them on)
Saleen or Whipple Supercharger (to get me to around 440 rwhp and around 500 flywheel)
Cool Stuff She Has:
Sirius Satellite Radio (bought the lifetime subscription. I'll have her for awhile)
Houston Texans flag (ldo)
Texas Longhorns car emblem (ldo) and soon to come a Houston Texans car emblem
Girls usually in the passenger seat
Sorry if some of the pictures came out a little fuzzy; apparently, I don't know the finer points of photography (like don't shoot into the sun).
Comments? ensign_lee do good?
and just to make sure no e-fights happen, I'm not actually insulting you, boost.

Also, to answer some inevitable questions:
1) Yes, I have already taken her to 140 mph
2) Yes, I have done a burnout...once.
3) I get like 18 mpg on average...but whatever; I have a V8. It's not mpg that matter; it's smiles per gallon!
4) I spend like 90% of my driving time with the top down. Convertible option was more than well worth it.
5) Yes, she's my daily driver. I don't have a beater car in addition.

2000 frc corvette. longtubes, full exhaust, magic stick 3 cam/springs/rockers. 368 to the tires dyno tuned. black on black on black. Go with 4:10s if its a auto, if not i would get 373s for the street. Ive had about 7 mustangs from 87-2002. Never had a 05+ though. Nice cars, best looking mustangs in a long time.

I'm actually impressed with all the car talk in here! Congrats on the stang. Nice color.
I used to have a 2000 Mustang GT... with 420 RWHP... Ran a 12.3 @ 118MPH on the stock Goodyears... Just a hint, if you're thinking about a supercharger, think about spending just a touch more money on a turbo. It was SOOO much more fun (i.e. 475 lb/ft of torque). And I took it to the autobahn in Germany also. 180MPH is VERY SCARY fast, though I didn't top-end her...
ALSO, just remember that the more power you start putting down, the more things you are going to break, especially if you do your own work...(oh the expensive things I've learned)

german>japanese>mopar=chevy>ford... just thought Id put that out there.....
And yah its funny that you havent shown any pictures of your interior... You would win in a race, but Im pretty sure you wouldnt crush me from a rolling start. I have plenty of room for 5, 4 doors, oh and dont forget refined style. Your interior is full of cheap plastic and low quality leather. Oh and I guarantee its automatic, which is just .....
Ok, enough defending of my womans honor. I am happy to see you went with the v8, not sure if you remember but I was one of the most vocal proponents of the GT. You would have been so let down by the v6, esp seeing as you have modding plans lined up that involve more than aesthetics. I really like the color, but Im not sure if Im a fan of the stripes.

lol; actually I don't have any pics of the interior because I didn't think about it. I actually think it looks pretty good; aesthetically pleasing plastic is ok with me. I like the throwback styling inside.
And yes, I do remember you being a big proponent of the V8 when I asked FTR about it earlier. Thank you. Driving around the in the V6 just felt...sluggish to me. Yeah, that's really the best way I could put it.
And a properly tuned automatic >= manual imo. And I have that now. Man, the difference was INTENSE pre-tune and post-tune.

Also, serious question to those of you who know more abut cars than I do (which I'm pretty sure is a lot of you. I'm still pretty much a n00b at this):
Nitrogen filled tires: worth it?
Allison finally threw a low tire pressure warning at me today. And I was thinking about putting in nitrogen. I think it's like $20, $30 or so.
Otherwise, where do I go to fill up my tires? Gas station?

I know nothing about nitrogen filled tires? Google it? Air is usually free at some gas stations, others charge you a Quarter or two...

Lol, have you never even driven before? Most gas stations have free air.
And nice car btw. Glad you went with the V8 and I personally think it looks better without the stripes. But I've never really been a fan of the way they look on most cars.

I drove a '96 Avalon for awhile before this. Then I drove a Honda Accord for like 6 months after my parents traded the Avalon in to get my little sister a car (long story. ) Then I got my car in December.
At any rate, never done car maintenance of any kind before.
Case in point: Installing the Cold Air Intake was supposed to take a whopping 30 minutes. I took 3 hours.

Meh; didn't do it for me. I think my machined aluminum looks better.
On a completely separate topic...
HOLY WOW! BURNOUTS ARE FUN!!!
I just did one well for the first time tonight. I don't know what it was the first two times I tried, uneven ground or something, but it worked wonderfully today. Gigantic cloud of tire smoke behind that didn't dissipate for a full minute - smelled like rubber the entire time. AND IT WAS SOOO MUCH fun launching from that stance! WOW!
Done a burnout yet Boost?

I have an open diff, so theres not really a point.
but a few inches of snow + an open parking lot at 3am is always lots of fun when youve got a6speed v8 rwd beast Maybe when you learn to drive youll realize that the most fun to be had in a car doesnt involve doing a burnout or going in a straight line.

Are you seriously gonna buy one of these? Because that would kick ass. I love driving super powered trucks. A few years ago I came so close to buying a Lightning, I was test driving that puppy like every day and lovin it.
