Clutch has gone so I can't get it into gear, and as such can't drive it to a garage to get it fixed.

I'd arranged to have it towed to a garage today but its fell through

I'm screwedd without a car, I'm going to have to catch a taxi to work and back, it's going to cost me a fortune

Every car I've had has f&*ked up, one of them got fire bombed I couldn't even claim as the premiums would have gone up more than the car was worth. I must have spent around $8,000 on cars and car repairs in the last 2 years alone, I'm going to get me a horse and keep it in my garden I swear.

1 Horse power 0 to 60 never :P

On top of that I'm in a 2/4 200BB downswing. I've had around 3-4 sessions 2-3 hours each where I have won about 7 hands in each game.

AKs / AKo / QQ / KK are all losers this month in 2/4. thankfully I've done ok in other games so i'm not down $$ wise but it was frusrating enough for me to cash out and move to FullTilt for a while.

September can kiss my grits

I had the same problem when my car broke last month. Two weeks of riding the bus to work, OH JOY!!! Then playing online at night, I broke even for the entire two weeks, except the one 7 stud MTT where I got 2nd. Oddly enough, getting my car back put me back over the hump (OK probably not, but hey it sounds good).
Is that guy still part of the forum??

Someone's been kind enough to lend me a Golf TDI for the week so that's one problem solved. I also hit up Party Poker for $300 today too so that should cover the repair bill :P

It's all good!

You dont know pain until your transaxle blows on the highway, or the braking system is conaminated with sugar (vandals) causing your brakes to inexplicably lock when driving, or there was the time the windshield wipers stopped on the highway in winter (had to stick my head out window till I could pull over). There was also the time a cracked intercooler pipe cost me 1k, stereo was stolen costing me 750$ (not including the replacement stereo).

I am starting to believe that I have the worst luck with cars, because all this has happened in the last 2 years, not to mention the 8 accidents I've been involved in, 1 of which was my fault.

last time i was on a japanese sport bike (vfr 750), i went in to a turn at ~95 mph, did a sloppy downshift, and the back tire broke loose. i got a foot down, veered into the other lane and opposite shoulder and finally got the bike under control. i scared my friend behind me so bad he almost lost it to (and he was riding my harley!).

i had to sit on the side of the road for about 15 minutes because i was so freaked!

for fishstick:

japanese sport bikes baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad!

you be careful, leon!

Sport bikes are fast, very, very fast.

I dont mind going fast, but if Im tapping 158mph, I'd rather be in my big steel enshrouded supra.

nah, I have a MKIII.

Turbo, Targa, 5-speed, completely uninsured and collecting dust.

No real mods other than a boost gauge, cut off the cats, and some moron bent the release rod on the wastegate so now it boosts to 14 psi, tops out at ~155mph.

What kind of potential do the MKIII's have? I've only ever seen one modded I think (actually modded, as opposed to riced).

Check out this guys MKIII, he has a sweet video of it being driven http://www.ma70.com/danmac/. mine has way less horsepower, but I can still take down most mustangs.

What is the stock turbo? What are the common upgrades? (I drive a DSM but I'm always interested in hearing about modding other turbo cars.)

Stock turbo on the MKIII's is a Garret (i believe) T-34, its good up to about 15psi, if there is a metal head gasket on the block. Other than the turbo kit which ups the turbos potential a bit, there aren't many standard mods for the car, cut cats off (~30hp), metal head gasket (saves the engine), K&N filtercharger (~7-8hp).

You say you drive a DSM, I assume that still means domestic standard market, so I can: A: assume you have a honda civic (probly with lots of stickers) , or B: you drive what looks like an eclipse, and that chick on the hood is your girlfriend!?

Haha, no, Diamond Star Motors...refers generally to first and second generation Mitsubishi Eclipses, Eagle Talons, and Plymouth Lasers.

And yes, that's a Talon, and that's my girlfriend. Really. No, really. Would I lie about something like that?
