I live at home with my younger brother and mom dad. My parents have been in Texas since Friday until this Wednesday. I left town all Saturday and all day Sunday and I left the house spotless. I cam back last night and it was a pig sty like you've never seen before up until about an hour ago. i was not going to lift a finger to help but then an hour ago my aunt shows up, so that's when we clean up the place. I vowed that I was not going to help out at all because this kid needs to learn some fucking responsibility.
To make matters worse, we finish the rec room and he goes back to his room, leaving the kitchen fucking pitiful. so i yell at him to come up and help, he does so, for about 5 minutes and leaves with a bunch of dishes in the sink. "I'll just put them in the dishwasher in a couple hours" he says. So I do it myself.
So I'm talking to my aunt about how things are going and my brother has the audacity to come up and ask me "are you going to vacuum the floors?" Right in front of my aunt. Well no fucking shit you asshole!
he's 22 btw. I pay rent, he gets a free ride. I play poker for a living and he skips work today.
/rant
How do I get through to deez kidss??? Do I punch him in the face? Do I just take this shit? Or do I just leave the house again?

Hah, you need to move out ASAP.
Admittedly watching you two play during that live game was hilarious. Sibling rivalry was a factor you both seemed to have adapted for as you were both betting / calling lighter vs each other than anyone else

IMO your parents need to kick his ass out if he's not earning his keep. It's really that simple.

Man, and I thought his 200NL with a $500 BR was bad...
I'm still disapointed that he didn't call my river vbet on a TT9K2 board with K9 vs my T8

When I was 19 I moved out for a year to complete a program at a local college here. Moved back home @ when I turned 20 after I completed the program. I moved out again when I turned 22 to begin a longer program at a different post secondary institution. When I turned 25 I moved back home because I was having difficulty paying rent while attending school and work. So, now I've been at home for a year and am saving up for a down payment so that I don't have to go through this again.

i heard somewhere that our generation in general are much later bloomers to get their life on track and move out, statistically speaking.

This is the same thing I've heard. The best theory out there is that the generation before us worked their asses off because they wanted more for their children compared to what they themselves had. Now, our generation doesn't feel the need to produce for themselves, because the household income is high enough to sustain a family for a longer time. Or something along those lines...
I wish I could go back in time like John Titor and observe myself as a child, along with how I was taught by my parents. I think it'd be very interesting to witness mistakes or benefits during my developmental process.

Parents don't do their kids any favors by letting them slip by this way. Kids never grow up. If I were your brother, I'd be embarrassed. It's like going through life wearing a diaper and sucking on a pacifier.
As far as your dealing with your brother, think sink or swim. It's obv you will never have much of a positive influence on him no matter how much you try, unless some fundamental dynamics change. Fold and wait for a better hand.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

I have a friend who is 31 and still lives at home with mommy and daddy. He is a lazy lazy piece of shit but his parents do nothing about it. If he were my son I would have booted his ass out of the house by age 21.
