From the article:

Doesn't matter if you are staring at your first hole cards of the day on Partypoker.com or if, like Gabe -- who, like most of the students interviewed for this story, did not want his last name used -- you are in the final hour of a two-day Rounders-esque rampage.
|
So Gabe... what IS your last name? And how are your two-day Rounders-esque rampages going?

One would think that if this fellow "Tom" has gambled enough to lose a hundred grand in a few years, he'd have played enough hands to be at least a moderately winning player. I guess not

Winning poker is unnatural. Many people just don't have it in them. Many more lack what it takes to beat a game even as tough as Party 2/4. Once you get to players who can beat up Party 3/6, 5/10 6 max, 5/10 and above you're talking about the upper class of the poker ecosystem.

that guy tom is an idiot, if you cant win at the low stakes, why would you move up ?
he sounds like the typical guy who watches the world poker tour and thinks he's gus hansen.
some people take the time to really learn how to play well, and other already think they are above it all and jump right in and lose ... i think this is where the dead money all-ins come from with AK preflop.

The dude just flat out DOESN'T LIKE POKER!!
My guess is he got busted out by some "rounder" who flopped a miracle on his 7/4 off suit!!!

Anyone else thought the kid in the beginning seemed like a douchebag?
