So far I have a few songs on a playlist for sleep. It's 24 minutes right now but I'd like to make it about an hour.
What I have so far:
u,u,d,d,l,l..etc by deftones
the frail
leaving hope
gone,still
the persistence of loss
adrift and at peace, all by nin
parabol by tool
I want mostly instrumental if it has a beat but slow songs with haunting/background voice (like parabol) is acceptable. Nothing harsh or catchy that would wake me obv. I've been having trouble sleeping lately so I'm hoping this might help.
Suggestions welcome. I'm also considering tuning on the ambient channel on shoutcast but that won't end after an hour which is a problem.

Can you set your computer to go into standby mode in an hour? Will it go if shoutcast is running?

Top shout! Finally someone with a little class.
It sounds farty and gay but you can pickup CDs that have relaxing sounds that play for an hour or so called "forest raindrops" or "ocean sounds".
I had to use these to relax to to help my tinnitus but they're great for falling asleep to as well.

I have had trouble sleeping too recently. I have taken the opposite approach and found music to wake up to. Only getting 2 hours of sleep is starting to fuck with me tho, I am sore in random places and shit.
Like an hour before you go to sleep, run a mile, then smoke a bowl then jerk off, if your not asleep then its hopeless.

How about "The Interlude" by Atreyu?
If you want really relaxing, I guess you can go with some Explosions in the Sky.
"Patterns in the Ivy" by Opeth is pretty good. Get the first part if you want instrumental, the second has lyrics.
"Chords of Life" by Joe Satriani is really cool. It's not relaxing really, but it's instrumental and has some really cool guitar in it. Okay I'm listening to it now ... maybe it wouldn't help you sleep. Uhh but check it out if you wanna hear a really cool instrumental piece.
I also really like "Parisienne Moonlight" by Anathema, that's relaxing for sure. Kind of dark sounding. It has vocals though.
I could probably go on forever, maybe I won't though. I have all this music, obv ... so if you're lazy, I could probably just send it over. You'll have to trade me some good music in return though

Ok, I'm gonna have to go out and find these songs on the net. If anyone wants to make donations on aim (pharneox), that's cool too.
Songs I already know I won't listen to
Smack my bitch up...are you kidding me?
Hurt - IMO not right for sleep
Anything by NWA, but thx for trying Gabe.
