Love them
never heard of 7 rocks or the jacket, but i much prefer a real layered, twisty, arty film which makes you work to understand it than a linear style of film
Depends on mood of course, but as a general rule.
Oh wait I just realised... the film isn't called "Seven Rocks"... you're saying that the film "seven" rocks. doh
Anyway I would recommend...
The Spanish Prisoner (love this film - really nice "trust no-one" atmosphere)
Fight Club (although i'm sure you've seen it)
Mulholland Drive / Lost Highway (although these are perhaps a bit TOO trippy!)
Adaptation (although it's a bit of a film fan's film and some [wrong]people think it's crap.)
Being John Malkovich (although it's not as good as Adaptation, it's still a fine film)
Vanilla Sky (and it's Spanish original Eyes Wide Shut)
I Heart Huckabees (again, loved it. more of a madcap/surreal comedy, but still pretty fucked up. takes a while to figure out what it was trying to say)
I've also heard that a film called "The Machinist" is excellent, although i've never bothered to rent it. Possibly because on the cover it says "Fight club meets Memento!!!" and i just think that's lazy, crap advertising. It's got guy peirce in it though.

The strong point in poker is never to lose your temper, either with those you are playing with or, more particularly, with the cards. There is no sympathy in poker. Always keep cool. If you lose your head you will lose all your chips.

I really didnt like Requiem for a Dream maybe I was too young when I saw it.
I ment Seven, rocks with Bread Pitt and MorgaN Freeman. (just read yours and realized you realized what I said)
Fight Club is probably the best one out there.
I have wanted to see Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

Can't believe ya'll didn't bring up The Matrix (The original) - As much as I couldn't get over the Bill n Ted Factor, the premise behind the movie was spooky because it's so very possible.

Bambi.
And I'm serious, once you really think about it and delve into the psychological background the director is trying to instill into the film, it can really make it very interesting.

i'm glad to see someone put Jacob's Ladder on the list...incredible flick
has anyone here seen 2001 a space odyssey ?
me thinks its the best movie ever and also happens to be the most thought provoking and TRIPPY as well. it was made in the 60's and to this day has the most REALISTIC special effects of any space movie. no faky laws of physics and sound. no cgi.
it used to be said that lsd was necessary to understand the movie but i don't believe that is true. a lot of it is left open to interpretation. herb may be necessary for some because it is a long and deliberately slow movie. if people were constantly talking there is no way u would have time to think and let what you've seen so far sink in. you'll never know what you are missing out on if you fall asleep or can't sit through the whole movie.

Yeah, to be fair to both of you, Kubrick was the master of wacky films. The end of 2001 is just so far beyond anything that gets released today, it's amazing.
There's like... an hour of near-silence, followed by 15 minutes of crazy lava lamp stuff, then a man in a room or... something, and then a space baby.
Briliant.
I am currently watching Predator 2 on telly. Not quite so original, but there's more guns.
