Writing this new song, but I think my first verse just doesnt give the listener enough to get at what I'm getting at. Its definitely there in symbolism, but... meh. It sounds cool atleast. Also, I'm fucking obsessed with my chorus, it's been repeating in my head for about two hours which is a good sign... particularly the "Everything changes, the world rearranges... but you... stay... the same" part.

Anyway... not that anyoen really ever cares what lyrics someone is singing as long as it sounds cool, but does anyone follow my symbolism in the verse or does it just come off too... "out there"

 The verse is a bit vague and comes across as pretentious.

The chorus has potential though.

The pretentious part was kinda what i was worried about more. I didnt want to post "I think it might be pretentious" because then everyone would just say "yeah pretentious!" but the fact that you pulled it out yourself means its pretty bad ;p

Nope. Do pretty much everything myself. Atleast in terms of drums/guitar/writing. I've never really given vocals a shot and so I'm self conscious about, well, even trying. I'll feel stupid yelling in my apartment lol

Best to do it in the car. Vocals are easy...it's just a matter of doing it. The more you sing (especially in public) the easier it gets.

I record a lot of ideas into the cell phone...bring them home and record them into the computer...I write my best songs in the car for sure.
