So the guy doesn't have the best playoff record around. Bill Cowher isn't coaching next year, and your offensive coordinator is in Miami, and your defensive coordinator is in Dallas... Good luck on finding a decent coach this late after the season.

Wow.
So the Chargers coaching staff from last year looks like this:
HC - fired
OC - Now HC of the Dolphins
DC - Now HC of the Cowboys
TE's Coach - OC of the Browns
LB's Coach - DC of the 49ers.
WTF? Talk about turnover in the coaching staff...
I mean, who needs coaches, anyhow, eh?
Incredibly stupid decision.

I thought this was a bad move when I first heard about it, but the more I think about it, I think it's one of the worst coaching moves ever since they lost all their coordinators and the top candidates have already been taken. If they already have another guy lined up, OK, but if not, I wonder whether Marty got fired this late in the game just to screw him over and prevent him from having any chance at getting another job next year. PLENTY of teams would love to have a coach like Marty who has proven time and again that he can turn horrible teams around and take them to the playoffs, even if he always loses once he gets there.
The Chargers are going to take a step backwards next year for sure.

Yea that was horrible. He took a team with basically a rookie QB experience-wise to the best record in the NFL and gets canned. I'd give my left nut if the lions hired him.
