I don't think it was THAT lame. I expected much worse and was pretty impressed with the movie as a whole. And, he didn't have top boat he had 2nd boat.

Yeah, the only cheesy part was the 4 way allin on the river, alla Maverick style. The movie itself was VERY good.

I wouldn't have minded that the poker was lame if it hadn't lasted so damn long. The whole second half of the movie was really boring and slow and not at all what I was hoping for from a James Bond movie. From what I've heard so far people who huge fans of James Bond, such as myself, have been pretty disappointed that the movie didn't have the panache that Bond usually has. But people who went to the theater without those pre-existing expectations enjoyed the movie more.

I've watched almost all the bond movies, and I enjoyed this one as much as any other although it was a big change in style from the others. I like that they mixed it up. I can see how some people wouldn't like it as much (a lot less action, more character development, cheezy romance stuff)
Anyway the poker scenes are fucking hilarious IMO. Man we were laughing so hard in the 4 player AI hand when Bond turns over the nuts. Me and Genitruc were like 'LOL SHIPITTTTTTT'
would've been way better if he actually said that though...

I'm not sure what all you guys want. Some hated the poker, some hated the panashe...
This was suppose to be the first bond ever.... He just got promoted to 007 status and this movie (bonds experiences through it) made him the "playboy 007", not trusting anyone, with all the panashe we love. (hence, he fell in love, was betrade by the women he loved and she was killed, making him the bond we see in all the movies)
And second, it wasn't a poker movie... the poker had be be able to be understood by the general public... and well... it is a movie, so everyting is sensationallized. I bet you all didn't get bent out of shape when Rocky Balboa was standing toe-to-toe, slugging it out with his opponents? I mean, come on! When is the last time you saw a heavy weight fight like that? There is usually more ass grabbing than punching. But it's a movie. It's just entertainment, not a documentory... and it works.
I really liked it. No, the poker was not great. No, it didn't have the same panashe (but the new Star Wars don't have the same feel as the old ones either... and it is not suppose to). But I was entertained!
I'd watch it again! I may even by the DVD.

The latest Star Wars movies were ridiculously bad, and star wars fans who swear by them are utter fking retards. Lucas should shoot himself in the face and call it a day. One of my friends is not necessarily a star wars fan, but liked the movies. I said "Those movies sucked ballz", and he said "Are you plugged in!", as if I had just spewed forth a bucket of helacious blasphemy. I cracked up laughing, because those movies were truly fking aweful, and there is no room for negotiation on the matter. It's not an opinion, it's too bad you're an idiot if you don't agree. That's how sure I am that they sucked.
I will refrain from further ranting, because I don't want to be mistaken for one of those idiotic star wars fans who dress up in the gear and such. I just thank god they aren't reproducing very often, and when they do it's with someone fat and ugly. Fucking lunatics.

the new star wars movies were worth watching. The story was good. The effects were good. The acting was decent. The script and dialogue sucked. The directing sucked. These movies prove that Lucas is good at writing stories, but sucks at writing screenplays and directing films.
