Upgrade resources... don't push to upgrade one of them REALLY high, it'll fuck you up... just do each one, one step at a time. You have n00b protection for 3 days. Don't mess with other buildings at all for at least 2 days.

build resources equally at start for 2 days, then you can work on building some soldiers while still building resources.
Getting high resources fast is key.

I also did the Travian PLUS (since there is a free 7 day trial).. so I bought the plus and the 25% resources for all 4 things... i figure the best time to boost the growth is at the beginning.

Well yeah, they give you 35g to start, but after that, you can't get anymore without recruiting people or paying money, right?
And the resource bonuses are 5 gold each; I don't think they come included on the Travian plus package.

I'm gaul, and just now got my infrastructure to the point where I can get some TT's - Gaul's best raiding cavalry.
Zook - did you just move in next to me? WHY? lol. If you don't confirm that's you either her or on travian, I'm going to raid the SHIT out of you, because I need SOOO many resources to research TT's. I've been raiding with MFing phalanxes for goodness sake.

Just got my squadron of TT's and took out 20 macemen from an active player's village. Heck yeah!!!
Now my cleanup crew of 30 phalanxes is going to pillage his town of his bazillion excess iron.
And to think, I gave him a way out by simply paying tribute... :P~~~

I have lvl 1 wall, 9 legionaires, a cranny and embassy...

Troops are always good. Find inactives, raid them, then when those run out - find weak actives, and raid them. lol.
But I'm still new to this game.

I've made several of my neighbors into farms.
I think I have about 5 of so pop 50+ farms that I just go and pop from time to time.
I keep having to further and further out of my 7x7, though, but it's ok. TT"s are blazing fast in this game.

I'm upgrading and trying to get catapults so that I can be of more use to an alliance later, or so that I can pummel the crap out of these little bitches near me that are crannying.

lolol. depends on who that 50 pop is. If it's teuton, hell yeah, go for it.
Actually, until you get in wars with other ppl, a hero really doesn't help much, if at all. And it takes awhile to get the infrastructure to build a hero's mansion.
And if you want to see how many troops and resource ppl have, you'll need scouts; it also will help you more efficiently allocate your raiding parties when your army gets bigger.

Im using maces to raid. I got fucked over sent my big 40 man mace team and the Abandoned Valley i hit repoped and I lost like half my maces.
I got some paladins(good defense not great raiders) and a decent team of macers up now

Sonofabitch. I just attacked some 50 pop Gaul and he took out 16 of my TT's. WTF?!
and by then I'd already sent my second squadron of 13 TT's and a TT hero there. I hope my second wave is able to finish the job, or at least not die.
