ok, who woulda guessed, the fightin Illini didn't put up much of a fight today, and the rainbow warriors look more rainbowy and less warrior-like than ever.
Oh yea, Mizzou looked dominant over an Arkansas team that beat LSU.
BCS scheduling...blah blah blah...zzzzzzzz.......
When will they ever swallow their pride, and just take an honest outside look at all of the matchups and bring us some sexy bowl games.

Missouri got fucked no doubt about that. But my only real problem with the BCS this year is that Kansas got in over Mizzou. Who would you have put in place of Hawaii and Illinois?

really tough to say Florida after today right.....
I would have like to have seen another Pac 10 team I guess, it'd be better than the Big 10 getting 2 teams in. But it's tough to say ASU now as well.
FWIW Im not bashing Hawaii being in, it's just a ridic. tough matchup for them. Hawaii vs Illinois would have been fun now that I think about it......as would have USC vs Georgia.

Yeah, I think those matchups would have been more entertaining. The problem this season was that college football was just a jumbled mess of too many good but not great teams.
And Florida couldn't have been in anyway since there was already 2 SEC teams in and they have that stupid rule that no more than two teams from one conference can get BCS berths. Wisconsin got fucked by that last year. They went 11-1 in a BCS conferences and didn't get a BCS berth b/c OSU and Michigan were in. Terrible rule imo

Yea, I know the 2 team rule, it's why Missouri isn't in.
Hawaii just looks flat-out overmatched, this is a bad bad bad thing for future WAC teams

well my game is pretty much over barring any miracles. so let's break it down.
OSU vs. LSU consists of two teams that i do not believe are championship material. my vote for the championship game would consist of either UGA or OU against USC. either one would be a great game. and yeah you can argue that we didn't win the SEC. but we're still playing the best football in the SEC. we were 5 points from being in the championship game (USoCar @ UGA).
rose bowl illinois @ USC. i got comments saying "hey illinois beat number 1 OSU. how can you say they don't have a chance?" hate to say i told ya so...
mizzou vs. arkansas??? no chance for arkansas. mizzou is a way more solid team than arkansas.
UGA vs. hawaii. i honestly thought hawaii would put up points. but they couldn't even do that..embarrassing.
the only two good games i've seen so far is tennessee vs. wisconsin and florida vs. michigan. i honestly didn't expect michigan to fight so hard against florida but kudos to them. esp since they (the seniors) haven't beaten OSU or won a bowl game. i was rooting for wisconsin because i hate tennessee but w/e.
i called every one of these games except for michigan over florida. so maybe i should be in charge of scheduling the bowls? of course not. but this goes to show how effective the BCS is at choosing the optimal matchups..

Firstly, the BCS's only job is to have 1 play 2 in the national championship game. It's the bowl selection committees the fuck the rest of it up.
How sweet would this have been!
OSU vs LSU
USC vs UGA
VT vs OKLAHOMA http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/wire?...ncf&id=3160608
KU/MIZZOU vs HAWAII
WVU vs ILLINOIS
We need to revamp the BCS system. Then we need to somehow kick the bowl selection commitees square in the junk and replace them with one coherent bowl selection that puts the 4 best possible matchups. It won't even who gets which awesome matchup if you just have the "worst" on new years day. Then we can celebrate the introduction of critical-thinking to college football.

Firstly, I love college ball! Go Big Red!
Secondly, The NCAA homies are a joke, they contradict themselves all the time, and money rules! The BCS is a cluster F#@#.
I've watched maybe a total of 3 qtrs max so far over all the Bowls shown. Thats sad.
I'll pick Oklahoma in the Fiesta, Kansas in the Orange, and LSU in the BCS. My logic? I have to go with the Big 12, I hate Tech, and OSU. That makes about as much sense as the NCAA rulings this year.

LOL. Our mascot is the Hokie and you think I'd be offended by how gay our colors are?
I mean, what the hell is a Hokie?
And, in retrospect, I shouldn't have said you were raped by white-tailed deer while tied to a salt lick. I should have said, "were you tied to an enormous salt-lick and raped by white-tailed deer as a child" because that has a nicer visual delivery.

17-7 KU at halftime. I'm pretty happy with how things are going so far, but wtf is VaTech thinking coming out trying to pass the ball all over us? Once they switched to the run they started beating our ass, I hope they don't continue that.
Hopefully it doesn't matter either way. VaTech could score 28 in the second half and KU's going to put up the same amount, if not more, so we should be able to take this one down...

Here's how I equate our play calling. There's a large box with two large buttons on it. Each time you press the first, it gives you a cookie. Each time you press the other, it gives you a mild electric shock. For some reason, even after receiving several shocks and several cookies, we continue to shock ourselves.

LOL, that analogy is PERFECT. What the hell was Beamer thinking?
Don't put it all on your coaching staff, though, the Manginos played really well (at times) for the win...

It's Steinspring our OC, I've wanted him fired for a while. Then there is our Athletic Director Jim Weaver who has has launched his campaign against fun at our football games. (He's banned our favorite cheer. Banned throwing things at tailgates. Etc etc.)
It's not looking good for Hokie fans...
I can't take anything away from your win. KU clearly showed up to win that game. But we are way too talented for the performance we gave. If Mangino had our talent, he would be in a national title game. But that's what you get when you practice for 1 hour before leaving for miami and let the seniors "enjoy the rewards of their bowl game" every season. This is why people call us the chokies...
At least, Bud Foster and the Defense played lights out. Every time KU had 5 wide, you guys had a chance to move the ball. Any time you had 3 wide or fewer, I knew we were gonna shut you down. If Bud Foster ever leaves Tech, I'll have nothing left...

I'm so disappointed . . .
that Mangino didn't get carried off the field. Not even so much as a Gatorade bath. Weak KU, weak.
Seriously though, that was some of the greatest game preparation I have seen in awhile. All credit to Mangino and his staff. KU played like a team that hasn't played in a BCS game before and really wanted to win. Sure we got a gift that Va Tech didn't run Ore more, but our team was prepared for this game and ran everything crisply. We actually won the battle of special teams with a Frank Beamer team. Wow, didn't think I'd say that today. We also won the battle of field position and our punter may have been our MVP.
GG Va Tech, your team might have won if you just stuck to a power running game. Your QB's are just to inexperienced to put the game in their hands yet. I'm sure you'll taste the BCS again soon though.
