I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

As a poker player, it's obviously disturbing, but as a human being/American, it sets a standard that it's okay for the government to outright control the Internet.

Legislation that "bans" online gambling but carves out niches for horse racing, fantasy football, and powerball. Claiming that fantasy football is a skill game and poker is gambling... and powerball (as we all know) is pretty much the ultimate skill game.

It will suck when the free dissemination of digital information over telecommunication systems goes back underground.
It's inevitable though, and fully encrypted data over multilayered spider-webs of routers with deeply spoofed IPs will most likely be the future.
The fundamental problem is that control freaks will always have their way because they're the only ones who are such victims to their own psyches and egos that they get validation from spending their short lives climbing the greasy pole to the top.
RE: pokers? Poker is just a symptom of what we can expect to escalate - increasing economic authoritarianism through playing on people's fears, religious beliefs and general idiocy..
.. Expect tighter controls on smoking, further proliferation of nuclear power (less risky sources like wind ignored), the escalation of tensions with the rest of the world (especially Russia), anti-China propaganda, a bigger "war on drugs" and an increase of bigotry through the media.
This, of course, is unless it turns out that Barack Obama is an uncorruptable free-willed strong human being, which is very improbable.

i don't see what the big deal is! I've got my guns and my god what other freedoms do I possibly need?! You wouldn't yell at the gov't for seatbelt laws! We elect these people and ask them to tell us how to live our lives and then question their wisdom when the come through for us?!
Fantasy football isn't gambling because god only punishes those whose lives do not please him! Peyton Manning's interceptions are simply jesus reminding him what's really important! It's difficult to follow the variance of god's many moods but it's clear which players and teams have a long term edge!
Poker, however, is clearly gambling because the shuffling of a deck is the Devil's music!
