Oh man, I haven't seen this page or thought about ladder theory in so, so long. Sadly, when I think about it, it still applies even though I am more than half way on my trek from 20 to 30.

I read this really great post on another message board awhile ago about LT:

Ladder theory is the product of horny retards who are desperate for someone to blame for their lack of social skills. Specifically, they're desperate to avoid blaming their failed attempts at forming relationships on themselves and instead focus blame on poorly understood behaviors of women.

Ladder theory is misogynistic, ignores the fact that most of the guys who believe it are physically and personally repulsive, and relies on a number of assumptions about what motivates women, almost all of which are wrong.

Nice guys, genuinely nice guys - get laid. They may not fuck 200 women a year - but almost every genuinely nice guy out there gets laid. The millions and millions of assholes who portray themselves as nice guys, while lying and scamming the women who they pretend to befriend are not in fact nice guys. They're immature retards looking for a cheat code to get pussy. If 95% of the nerds who subscribe to the Ladder Theory developed some basic personal hygiene and even the vaguest hint of socially acceptable grooming patterns, started getting some regular exercise and worked on having some social skills other then passive aggression and false friendships with ulterior motives - they'd all magically start getting laid.

If the Ladder Theory's assement of female motivations rings true to you - you desperately need to go out and make friends with some women - and by make friends I don't mean 'Lie to some women hoping that they will one day fuck you out of sheer desperation' - but actually get to know some women.

The Ladder Theory is mildly funny if you treat it like the joke it is. But that's all it is.
