Alright guys... I had an idea. First time for everything.
One thing I've been doing more and more of is notetaking on my opponents (playing on Absolute). I've found this extremely helpful in later sessions with the same people.
I'm a web designer by trade, and fluent in PHP databasing. I'd be willing to lead this project, but I want to see if anyone else is interested.
What if we built an FTR-exclusive database of player notes. We could all contribute to it, and have access to it, but I wouldn't give the information to everyone, just regular contributors (Maybe it'd make a nice incentive to join the community?)
I could design a web interface where you could quickly post your notes. Then, as you're playing games, you could go and quickly pull up any notes in the database on any of the players in there for quick reference during a game.
Could be an incredibly powerful tool and save a few orbits around the table getting reads.
Would people be willing to contribute to this or think it's useful?

Are you talking about notes just for players on Absolute or players at the bigger sites? I don't think there are many here that play on Absolute regularly. Also many of us do take our own notes and can keep track of people in PT. I think its a pretty cool idea but seems like alot of work.

Considering theres probably 200,000 Internet players playing at one time, I think its a little too much work. If you want to share notes with other people then thats more than okay, but I think its too much work to really do anything about.

what if we got all the PT stats for all of the players on the partyskins and put them into one huge database so we can have stats for every player on party

a PokerTracker database would be awesome. an online version of it where you just submit your HHs and there are millions of hands to judge everyone you play with by.
i do think it would be cool to have a place to download PT databases for certain places (like the party .5/1 or the stars 2/4). this might be harder than the notes thing, however.
back on topic: yes! that would be cool idea if everyone participated. i like your idea.
