So I don't have cable yet but I tried hooking my ps2 up to the TV and the picture was pretty blurry (I'd more describe it as scratchy and out of focus). I tried looking in the manual to see if I could fix it and I wasn't able to. It's a Sharp. I'm just going to call Sharp tommorrow to see if they can help me out but in the mean time I'm wondering if there are any TV experts roaming around that can help me out.
Thanks.

52-inch AQUOS? That's what I have, definitely BOC.

Sorry, though, can't really help you. My father-in-law was here to help me out with my set-up and installation. Add to that I don't own a video game system (it got stolen from my house when we used to live in the ghetto), so, yeah...

Good luck, though.

What type of cable are you using to connect to the tv? Is the ps2 a standard rca cable?

that's my guess...HD tv's look terrible unless you are using the HD RBG (or whatever they are) cables.

Did you buy it with FPP? When Stars sent me my TV the picture was really shitty so I took it to a repair shop and they said something was out of alignment and they fixed it. They said some dumbass from FedEx probably dropped the box. The person on the phone from Sharp was really helpful by the way.

If you have a friend who has cable and lives close by you might check and see whether the TV works if you hook it up to his cable.

ok, lcd tvs look pretty bad with the standard rca cable that is supplied with the ps2. Anything in standard def isnt really going to look that great. You need to play with the aspect ratio, there with be like 4-5 settings, ie. 4:3 16:9 and all that. I dont remember which one looked the best with my lcd. The first thing you need to buy is a set of component ps2 cables, this will make the picture look a LOT better. Here is a link to one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...e=UTF8&seller=

also you need to get either avia or video Essentials dvd to calibrate your tv settings, this will make a night and day difference in your picture. DO those 2 things and you will have a very good standard def picture and a GREAT hd picture. also, component and HDMI cables are about the same in picture quality unless you plan on getting 18001 hdtv (which your tv can support). Get HDMI cables for the cable picture if you want the best resolution possible. GL sir, call me if you have an other questions, i have a plasma and an lcd so ive been through this a few times now.

plasmas do not look better IF you have a 1080i lcd and the cable connection to use it. Most plasmas minus the newer ones (expensive) are only capable of 720p rez so its realy a wash imo.

Update:
So i just got the cables and the while the color is WAY better i still have liney shit across the screen. It seems like tis not the T.V. but still has something to do with the PS2 (although i tried a different PS2, same deal). Anyways, im going to call sharp and ask them wtf is going on. If it's broken im going to really regret not getting the in home warranty . I still have a warranty though thank god!

I just saw Chase suggested a avia dvd to calibrate it, I'll make sure to pick that up.

Hopefully the cable with an HDMI hookup won't have any problems.
