It looks like Pujols is going to visit the grimm reaper of baseball, Dr. James Andrews. He is going to have Tommy John as soon as the Cardinals are eliminated from the playoffs, the offseason starts, or he knocks in his last 5 RBIs to reach .300/30/100 for the 8th season in a row. Probably doesn't matter much this year, but next year is the All-Star game at the new Busch IV stadium and he should be the center-piece. Hopefully his recovery won't cut into his making the 2009 All-Star team.
Most probably don't give a hoot, but I thought I would broadcast this for any of the baseball homers.

Not really a big deal for a first baseman to get TJ surgery, he should be fine for next year.

He'll need it eventually so now seems like a good time. They say he will only miss through the first month of next season. Hopefully he comes back strong and sticks with the Cards when his contract is up!
