As a Yankee fan I am just as stumped. At least Clemens made a stop at another team before succumbing to the dark side, lol.
It's like I like him as a person and an old school player, but it feels like I'm getting sloppy seconds at a gang bang.

As a yankee fan who lives in Boston I don't know how to feel... someone want to give me advice? Should I be happy that Boston lost one of its most popular players... or pissed the yankees would accept one of their most hated rivals (alan embree and mark bellhorn don't count because those signings were funny)

As a Red Sox fan I can say who gives a shit where that scrawny good for nothing caveman goes? Now I can stop eating giant dinosaur sized chicken legs while I watch baseball. He was gonna kill himself if he didn't leave anyway, since he never figured out where the center field wall is. Nothing like watching Bump Bailey for years on end. It all started with the headbutt incident, and then he was never the same. After that it was like watching a cat with its whiskers pulled out. People sitting in center field would see him dissapear from view, and then re-emerge with a ball and a broken rib. Frig that guy and the birds who camp out in his beard. I hope he collides with Matsui in the middle of a game and they both just explode into a giant pile of body parts. That way Bernie Williams can go back to the outfield and show those idiots how it's really done.
Oh by the way Johnny, say goodbye to your beard for good. Steinbrenner doesn't allow them on his team, since he was raped by a bearded uncle when he was a teenager.

quoted for hilarity.
As a Cardinal fan and avid Yankee hater, when those two teams play, I wish BOTH of them would lose!!!! LOL

Yankees should of picked up Cabrera from the Marlins, and said to hell with Damon. Way to spend 52 million.
In regards to Damon never figuring out where the wall is in the outfield, I hear rumors that Steinbrenner is going to install an underground dog fence and force Damon to wear a shock collar to cut down on concussions.

I scream joyfully every time the Yankees spend 200 billion dollars on someone who shits the bed. If you think about it, based purely on bankroll, the Yankees are relatively the biggest dissapointment in baseball over the last several years. You know what's awesome about that? When they finally do win the whole thing again, no one will care because they're supposed to in this Fked up unfair league with no salary cap. It's embarrassing that some teams can only spend 40 Million and the Yankees spend like 200. Ya ya it's a business bla bla bla. Ya well in the pure business world, you ELIMINATE the other businesses. So why don't we allow baseball to reflect that sentiment. Let's continue to allow the incompatibility between the interests of a sports league and those of the pure business community to continue decaying our national pastime. We'll just have hostile takeovers, mergers, and a regular dose of bankruptcy. That's business right?

I'm a Sox fan in NYC (from MA). I never thought Damon was that good - especially how the Sox used him. He is a horrible fielder as has been stated, but then again Ramirez sucks too. Damon's best attribute was supposed to be his ability to steal bases. The Sox (as usual) don't send guys often enough. He's past his prime despite a good year last year. He'll probably hit over 300 as does every Yankee since the lineup is stacked and he's an upgrade over grandpa Williams, but he's not worth it. I love it when they throw money at average playes.
The good thing is Arod won MVP. Why? That means the Yankees won't go out and buy the MVP from a poorer club like they usually do.
Ever been to a game at Yankees Stadium? 80% of the people are there just for the food and ambiance. They don't even watch the game, and once in a while they'll inquire - who hit that homerun? They sit there and read books, tallk on the phone and eat nachos and mini pretzel bites with fake cheese. And this is when they were playing the Red Sox for 1st place. Such horrible people.
Anyway, Yanks won't win unless they pick up soem real pitching. I hope they don't Clemens.

They're talking about that on espn, I guess the long hair and beard aren't important to Johnny anymore.

I know. Let's all just join the yankees and become big pussies. I remember Giambi was cool once too.

That's one thing I don't like about baseball. Teams like the Yankees don't mind spending top dollar regardless of the penalties.
In basketball there is more parity because the owners take the luxury tax very seriously.

He is definitely not worth that type of money.....the Yankees can have him!
Sox do have some major holes to fill in the field and their batting order. Could be a bumpy year.
Hey 'Rilla: Good avatar.
