So I won three t0urneys back 2 back to win the only seat they were giving to the Irish Open 2008 in Dublin. I have played professionally for over 16 yrs (34 year old male). Since a family problem back 2 years ago my bankroll has been HORribly depleted. My point: I am looking for a backer to cover trip costs to Dublin for a nice cut of my profits.
Recap: I have my seat already to leave for Dublin from Arizona in March, 2008. Wanting to make a deal.
Email: jhudley1111 at aol . com
Thanks
Jason

Hello Jason,
Congratulations!! Many thanks for your patience with our officially winner’s letter! Glad to see that you are excited about the big event and welcome to Team Cake. Sounds like you are a well deserving player after that many years – have you played in any large live events before? We see it appears you may have won your way in to the main event using your Gold Chips – great work!
You're now a player in the Irish Open 2008 main event playing in Dublin, Ireland this March. Here’s what your Cake Irish Open prize package includes:
An Irish Open 2008 main event seat, playing March 19th to 24th in Dublin, Ireland.
Please note that you are responsible for your travel arrangements, including air and hotel. In order for us to place the USD to your real money balance of your CakePoker account, we ask that you supply us with a piece of valid Photo ID – preferably scanned and sent via email. Once we confirm the account details with you, we will top up your account with the cash and you will be good to go!
Full details on your win can be located at cakepoker Promotions IrishOpen. The tournament will be held at the beautiful CityWest Hotel located just outside of Dublin citywesthotel .com Should you be considering staying in downtown Dublin, it’s our understanding that a shuttle will be provided daily to the downtown area as CityWest is located on the outskirts of downtown. We can provide more information regarding this at your request.
We'll be in touch in the coming months with more details of course, leading up to the main event. In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding your win, please do not hesitate to reach us directly at Events atcakepoker com. Looking forward to your reply regarding your Photo ID,
Congratulations again on behalf of CakePoker!

perhaps scam wasn't the appropriate word, but you get the gist of what I was saying. You don't really know anyone on this site so I'm not sure who's going to actually want to be a part of this.

Why not just win the money? If you are a professional poker player and all.

If you can't afford to go and need the money, then obviously you sell the ticket? Am I missing something?

I will assume at this point the nerves I have struck amongst persons are life threatening...oops.
My seat is won, value 6k. Problem being they are non-refunable or transferrable per the rules I looked up on the site.
I dont want a handout, this is actually an investment opp, whereas the ability is proven with the already obtained seat. When I was well into generous bankroll levels, I can't even list the amount of times where I made great investments into people who needed assistance and whereas I came out ahead. Apparently along with the addition of SO much dead money over the past years into poker, the skepticism and lack of vision followed.

I can provide a list of cashes, but for the first 13 *est years it was all cash games...
anyway yeah they gave some cash for expenses, but not nearly enough. My assumption because they are located out of the US they expected a lot less cost for travel and such, as they also work in Euro of course in Southern Ireland..
Hotel = $950.00
Flight = $1,000 (est)
Incidendals (food) = $400.00
As I had stated the seat is worth 6k USD looking to shave off cost of trip for a nice perecentage...

2 better explain, though it isn't something I talk about much, when I was rolling in loot, our son was taken, yes taken. Trust me its a bad, bad experience. Then within a month my wife went completely nuts. I assure you this is a scenario you don't want to live aside from the 10's of 1000's you spend on potential solutions to both problems. I took 12 months off, and have just started to play again recently in the last year. It was a very tough start, though slow is steady I guess.
Anyway the poker world even in just a few yrs has changed so dramatically.

So I checked the PokerIrishOpen2008 board today, my seat has been bought and paid for. Neat thing Doyle is even playing all the way in Dublin.
I am still looking for a deal...
Any takers?

What happened to the restaurant that you managed/co-owned? Sell its ass to buy a ticket.

why would you choose to play in a qualifying event without the proper resources to fund your own trip. and if you did this knowingly how do you expect anyone to "invest" in you when you demonstrate that type of judgement..?

That is the reason.

hey pokrmoney, its gonna be tough man, as you are new to ftr and havent really established any credit here with the other members. do you have any friends or coworkers or anything that you could ask to invest, i know when i won my first wsop package, i sold some shares off to friends and it helped so my trip was paid for and didnt have to come out of my pocket, well anyways wish you the best man.

pokrmoney, you should read our FTR Rules Of Conduct (posted at the top of each of our forums) before posting. You may very well be legit, but we still have rules that all the regulars here abide by. Particularly for newcomers, we enforce our rules quite stringently.
