i voted yes, but only because people give out advice during MTTs when someone's playing. and if someone is there just observing all the chat they gain a shitload of information about you.

I voted yes becuase I looked deep into hypermagachi's female eyes and saw the truth.
She's nearly as purty as my avatar.

Precisely.

I said yes as wel, because we are discussing live hands. It is unlikely that some competitor at our table will be observing, but who knows how popular this IRC thing will become....word of mouth is a powerful thing.

I voted no. I'm all for more traffic and more people coming to join. If I see a god friendly opponent at the poker table I will tell him about FTR. I want that to go all the way around. If the IRC room can be a promotion tool. Lets allow it to be a promotion tool.
Let's get all the new members we can get.

I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.

I didn't even think of that. I voted yes too, because I often type my exact hand into IRC chat, and I don't want any unknowns in there who I could potentially be playing against.

I agree, I am always telling people about FTR, I just think that the IRC should be a "perk" of membership....if anything a possible reason to become a registered-contributing member.
Heck this site has been so valuable to me, I would be all for setting up "premium" services that members, if they choose, can pay an anual fee to have access to. Things like soupies post...and the gauntlet competitions. Anyway, I am just happy about being a member here and want to give back any way I can for all the excellent advice and support I have received.

I voted yes. If someone is really interested in hanging out on the IRC, they will take the 30 seconds to register for FTR.
