So I'm in the market for a blackberryish phone. iphone is pretty sexy and is bound to get me +3 lays at bars...which bring me to 3.5. Anyway, I'm looking at the iphone but there's a lot of things I love, hate, and don't know.
I love the design, the voicemail, the internetz browser, the built in ipod, oh and it's also a phone!
I hate the lack of a modem, lack of a gps chip, lack of phone companies (at&t monopoliez plz?), and the very slow edge network. The phone can be hacked to work as a crappy modem and can also be hacked to use tmobile (my boss has that) but I don't like having to hack things that could crash my phone.
What I don't know - phone plans? $80ish a month for 1000 minutes, unlimited night and weekends, sms msgs, and data doesn't seem that bad. I looked on other sites and see phone plans ranging from 30-70 and data plans at about 50-70. If I have to combine them then I'm definitely getting ripped off at 140 a month. What about generation 2 iphones? Any news on those? I'd be willing to wait if it was worth it.
Thoughts?

i have a blackberry and its like $80 a month! I'd get an iPhone but everyone tells me to wait + I have TMobile and I don't know how to hack one!

80 for 900 minutes, unlimited data transfers (email, web etc), unlimited cingular to cingular and unlimited nites and weekends. Not that bad of a plan.

I have one, and i do the 450 minutes plan, the key is we get free mobile to mobile, and 5000 nights and weekends...
unless you do a long of talking to oddball networks or land lines during the day,.. no reason to go with a more minutes plan.
