Hello one and all,

Just to introduce myself to everyone, some of you may already know me from my hand history posts.

I am dwarfman, I have been playing poker for around 3 months and I am strictly a tourney player.

Just to prove that fact here are my 5 most recent no limit holdem tournament finishes.

Thu Jul 15, 11:00 AM NL Holdem 14th out of 224
Sat Jul 17, 04:00 PM NL Holdem 37th out of 400
Sun Jul 18, 02:00 PM NL Holdem 42nd out of 400
Tue Jul 20, 11:00 AM NL Holdem 11th out of 210
Thu Jul 22, 09:00 AM NL Holdem 59th out of 209

I hope that's introduced me, and I hope to get a lot of help with my game (expecially ring games) from this site!

Greetings, dwarfman.

You'll find that most of the strategy tips and discussions in these forums pertain to ring games, so I'm sure you'll find a lot of good information here.

And, there's always the Hand Histories forum for more specific advice.

Great to have you!

Do single tables tourneys count too? I so desperately want to be cool like Fishy! 8-)

Anyways welcome aboard Dwarfman. I think you'll find that everyone has something to offer you here.

Like if you ever want to know what engine pressure you need to overcome the friction loss of 200' of 1.75" firehose with a 150gpm automatic nozzle. I'm your man.

Hah, tell me that's not cool fishy.

By the way. It's 170psi.

actually, mr fyrfytr, 170psi would be the engine pressure for 205' of 1.75" firehouse with a 145gpm automatic nozzle.

but you were pretty close. :P

and yes, single tables SNG's count! is there any other kind?
i hate what i have become to escape what i hated being...

Oh you want to get technical with me?

Fricition Loss = Constant X GPM (squared) X Length
FL = 15.5 X 150/100 (squared) X 200/100
FL = 15.5 X 1.50 (squared) X 2
FL = 15.5 X 2.25 X 2
FL = 69.75psi. Round up to 70psi.

Pump Display Pressure = Nozzle Pressure + Total Pressure Loss (Friction loss + Elevation Loss/Gain)

PDP= 100psi. (Elkhart SM-20 Automatic Nozzle Rating) + 70psi. (Friction loss only, straight lay w/ no elevation Loss/gain @ sea level)

PDP= 170psi. BEOTCH!!!

Fire hose comes in 50ft and 100ft lengths. And if your adding 5ft. for the little pig tail hose on a crosslay mattydale your off by 2 feet.

But I still like you Fishy. You da man.

Big Lick

oh, i didn't realize you were using an Elkhart SM-20. my calculations where based on the Elkaart SM-20a. and in kalifornia, the pigtail hose on your crosslay mattydale is closer to 4.75 feet.

no worries, i'm sure you're still a good fireman! :P
