just dig the mfer out and clip as much nail as possible to relieve the pressure. Whats gay is that you don't know when you've removed enough, as it takes like an hour or two for the pressure to subside even once u've freed the nail.
Yes, i have these on like a monthly basis, it sucks ass.

Is it just at the sides of the nail? If that's the case, you could take a scissor and cut of a v-shaped piece at the top. That should relieve some of the pressure.

Soak it in water and epson salts. Makes it easier to dig out. And hopeful you're not like me where my ingrown toenail started at the base and couldn't be dug out. So the doctor had to freeze my toe, cut that side of the nail apart from the rest, then rip the fucker off with pliers.

By the way, I used to get ingrown toenails and fingernails often enough to be a pain in the ass. When I started cutting my nails straight across instead of with an arc, they have never returned, it's been about 8 years.

Grrrrrr I have been trying for a while to dig it out
Problem is it's the right pinky and I'm right handed making the task difficult, also the nail is so small and I cannot find a pair of nail clippers thin enough to get in there.
I have been soaking it and using a hot towel to try and soften the skin up.

Ragnar4's simple, but effective way to cure a hangnail problem
Step one: Drink, a lot
step two: place your pinky fingernail between your teeth, preferrably your molars
step three: while holding on to your fingernail with your teeth, pull your arm away in a brisk, violent motion, removing fingernail from finger.
step four: Quit being a pussy and just do it
Step five: Have your buddy tape that shit, get a lot of footage of you stumbling around afterwards in manly pain.
*bonus if you get only get the nail 1/2 off and get close up shots of said action*
step six: Put that shit on youtube, and college humor dot com, and shit talk anyone that calls you an idiot by calling them a pussy and asking how many of their own fingernails THEY have pulled out. Quotes like "It takes a man to inflict that much pain on himself to alleviate something a doctor could fix in 5 minutes" are easily the most volitaile because they will A) Validate their arguments but B) Assassinate their ethos leaving you the victor because an argument without ethos is worthless.
