but I wanna say hi. I've been what you might call a lurker for about 3 months give or take and I must say I enjoy this site very much. It has improven my game a lot and also given me conidence to stick to it even when it seems I can't do anything right.

I started playing in NLHE games just about a year ago at the local bar and then around April it hit me...I DON'T WANT TO BE A FISH ANYMORE!!!!! I kept losing, not because of bad luck, but because of lack of knowledge. I lacked the knowledge I needed to devolpe a style of play, to be able to control my emotions, to be able to calculate odds, none of it. I had no clue what I was doing.

With a little help from F.T.R., T.V., playing more and more, and a subscription to card player magazine I've learned a lot on how this game is suppose to be played and how when played right you can rake in the $$$.

At this point currently I still play a regular game at my local bar (with better results), online it's UB (Stars soon but not yet), a trip here and there to Foxwoods, and that's about it.

NLHE is the game for me (Omaha is facinating as well but one thing at a time). MTT, SnG's, Live, I love it all and of the suddle difference's in each of these types of games.

In closing I want to say that again that of all the on-line forums I've seen this one is by far the best and I look forward to talking (and playing) with you guys in the near future.

Hey Joker, welcome to FTR! Hey, if you end up joining PokerStars, you may want to sign up for one of our League games. It's a great time, a great experience, and we're only playing at the $10+1 stakes, so it's pretty affordable for everyone. The quality and level of play is very good for such a cheap entry, so a lot of people are having fun with it.
You can check out the schedule here.

Anyway, nice to have you aboard, catch you later.
