I think it's a combination of being a very rare card and based on my knowledge of the game which is very limited, I think that it's an extremely useful card.

I disagree, I just think the people who play Magic are gay. The game itself is decent.
btw black lotus basically gives you a 2 or 3 turn advantage over your opponent. By turn two you could play a 5-casting cost spell that you would usually play on turn 4 or 5.

I am suprised more poker players dont play Magic. I used to play before i got into poker. But it is a very mental game just like poker. The more creative you are the better you can be.

I'm telling you, I think that many poker players played Magic and Counterstrike back in the day. A good example is ex-FTR member Doggz who finished runner up in the world championshps with his Blue Control Deck. Also Doggz's CS clan took first in last year's CPL event in Dallas.

I've played CS but very limitedly, only playing on assault becuase the Terrorists have an ENORMOUS advantage.
I've played magic very limitedly. I also played pokemon cards limitedly, until my brother stole both my first edition Zapdos and Charizard and when I asked for them back, he turned around and traded them almost immediately.

Terrorists have an adv in assault becasue usually CTs are fucking retards. Usual situation, 10Ts versus 10CTs, I swear to God 3 n00bz camp the fucking CT tower with a combination of Scouts, AWPS, and autozz (omfg i wall u with auoto lollllerrzzz). 3 other dumbasses camp the bridge. 2 other people run around the fd and have about a 1-2 kills ot death ratio. There is one other thinking player who tries to go bd and gets pwned. Ima big fan of the smoke grenade into the vents and go vents, but it blows if there are fucking campers in the vents. Thats y buy two flashbangs though. If I dont go Vents, Ill go fb + bd. M4=Spraaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy. Oya bridge and tower morons just camp and let the timer run down, so the Ts win. GET THE HOSTAGES!

I had played the level so much, I could sit in the area below the vent with an m4, I could shoot people coming front, i could run to the back and spray through the wall to get anyone going that way, i could spray up through the vent and I could also bounce a grenade into the vent grate from below if I cant spray the guy in the vent. I was also good at picking out the sounds that told me where people were. I was so good at this, i was banned from every good assault server on cz thus I quit playing.

Also, climbing the ladder to uppers makes a sound.
Also, when it's really quiet and you know people were on the roof, chances are they've moved to upper vents.
Same is true when you hear people run to bd and then it's quiet. Either they quietly climb the ladder, doubtful or they're RIGHT behind the door, deadful.
But this kind of reasoning is obv heavy hackage to 14 year olds, so i was super banned.

Wow, I remember this game way back in the day like 10 years ago. I used to play tournaments a lot and won shitloads of cards. I never got rid of them so they are probably sitting in boxes in a closet at my parents house. I should go find them next time I visit, and sell them. I have some really valuable cards if I remember correctly.
Anyway, I was always a big fan of this one:
