is it pronounced 'fuh-nord', or like 'ford' and the 'n' is silent? Or is it some kind of play on the word fjord and its actually pronounced 'fyoord'?

No he doesn't mean like two words. He's trying to express that he doesn't pronounce the name with that "uh" sound in the middle like everyone seems to think is in there.
So the name sounds Ffffnord not Fuh-Nord or Fffff... Nord. It's Ford with an "N" sound right after the "F" no pause. That's how I've always read it too.
