I'm in the process of relocating my desk into my bedroom and I figured I'd tell everyone what's going on in one swoop instead of having to explain it to a couple dozen people individually.
Over the past few months, my girlfriend has started having weird (for lack of a better word) health problems. One day she started having heart palpitations which was giving her trouble at work, and that continued for a few weeks. Then she started passing out in seemingly random fashion, and this went on for a couple of weeks. Then one day she started getting really bad migraines to the point that she couldn't see, and this went on for a couple of weeks. Now she has stopped passing out (for the past week at least) but she's started having seizures multiple times each day. I've taken on the role of keeping an eye on her 24/7, and I'm moving my desk to the other end of the house so that I can be in the same room with her while she sleeps. I've taken her to numerous doctor and hospital visits in the past weeks, the next of which will be to a neurologist who was supposed to call us back today to confirm an appointment but did not.
I've played less than 5k hands in the past week and a half, and if I don't get to the point that I can fit in time for playing then it's just going to make the situation worse. Money isn't an issue or anything, but I don't want to let it get to the point that I'm ever paying more out than I'm bringing in. Basically it's just a reorganization of my time to facilitate what's best for the situation.
Anyway, I'll still be on a bit, but can't keep spending a few hours each day on the forums and in IRC. Holla back.

Thoughts are with you and the little lady. Get referred to a specialist ASAP and figure out what the hell is wrong. A neurologist I assume would be best. Might be something little but figuring out what the hell is going on is time sensitive. Don't ever want to hear another if we had only caught it sooner story.

Update, Saturday, August 30:
We go next Wednesday to the Epilepsy Center of North Carolina or whatever it's called, which is basically the #1 place in the state for this type of thing, which ironically enough is located in the same set of buildings that I've had to take my younger brother to for the past 3-4 years for some sort of sensory-related therapy, so I know where it's at.
She usually has between 3-6 episodes a day, some of which are more violent than others. With my desk in here in our bedroom, I can keep an eye on her in the mornings while she sleeps so I can get more poker-related stuff done during the day it seems.

She has gotten to the point that she can tell about 15 seconds before it starts that she's about to have a seizure, which is quite +EV for her health since she situate herself away from stuff she could hit her head on or whatever.
Michelle has a life-long history of panic attacks, though she hasn't had one in probably 4-6 weeks at this point, and I think dealing with that since she was in preschool hardened her mentally a bit, so she's been dealing with this better than I would have expected. I think Michelle's mom is taking it worse than Michelle is. She calls us 3-4 times a day to ask how Michelle is doing.
I've been able to get back on a somewhat consistent schedule for poker. I'm studying 3-4 hours/day and playing 3-4 hours/day, about half 50nl and half 100nl. I basically play 50nl when I feel like spacing out, and play 100nl when I feel like paying attention.

Out of interest, how old is Michelle? In my (limited) experience, epilepsy tends to ease as people age. This isn't news worth backflipping for but at least it's something.

Update 9/3/2008
Michelle was hooked up to an EEG when she had two of her episodes back to back. An EEG is basically 20-30 wires stuck on your head picking up what your brain is doing. Here's the thing: her brain was entirely 100% normal before, during, and after her episodes. In short, what she does isn't really a seizure since it's not caused by spastic brain activity.
Apparently, her body has been doing all sorts of weird shit to deal with a build-up stress and anxiety over what was probably some sort of traumatic event (or events) that happened when she was younger. Even more surprising is that this is fairly common -- so common in fact, the neurologist who was talking to us referred us to a therapist-type person who specializes in this particular thing and who works at the same place we went today (the Epilepsy Institute of North Carolina).
He told us that roughly half of the people who are referred to the Epilepsy Institute don't actually have epilepsy and that their issues are very similar to Michelle's. So Monday morning, we get to meet someone who has studied this particular thing probably as long as long as Michelle has been alive.

She still has these episodes 2-4 times/day or so, which is better than the 7-8/day she was having them say 2 months ago. I've gotten my shit back together for the most part, but she's still not able to be left alone for long at all.
