yah JJ owns subway, all day.
What Im really fiending for is some ush-guh (I dont know how else to spell it... thats just how you pronounce it) Which is polish food. Its like wild mushrooms in a sorta tortilini thing, but the noodle part is way softer then italian noodles. And you serve them in hot beat soup tahts flavored with dill and some sour cream and salt. Might sound weird but its REALLY good, my grand dads polish and we eat it ever xmas.
Oh and nalish-sniki (again dont know how to spell it) This is also polish, its like cream cheese cottage cheese and vanillablended together and rolled in crepes, then hot strawberry sauce poured over it. SOOO GOOD!
Oh and this restauraunt called Fogo De Chao. Its a brazilian BBQ, if you are looking to spend 50$ a plate on some of the most amazing food youve ever eaten, and one of the best dining expeirences ever, look for a brazillian BBQ in your city. I know sandiego has one(called Rei De Gado I think), Ive been to it, its really good, chicago has Fogo De Chao, and Ive been to one in new york a long time ago, but it wasnt so great, but there might be otheres there. It cost a lot, but its worht it. The chefs walk around the dining area with skewers of the most succulent meat youve ever had, and carve off pieces of it for you right at your table. They have other stuff too, but hte meat is the highlight of the meal.

Yeah, churrascaria is great. Plataforma is one that I went to a couple times in NYC, pretty decent but the waits can be abysmal. In Las Vegas, rumjungle in Mandalay is a half-assed rodizio style service but the food quality is good, and it's a deal if you're going to the nightclub later (semi-VIP pass). Yolie's off the Strip on Paradise is a more authentic churrascaria.

Uszka and Nalesniki. My mom's side is Polish. I also enjoy visiting them every Christmas and eating all the Polish food. My remember when my brothers and I would help my uncle make kiellbasa every summer when we were younger. Sadly he tore down his smoke house a few years ago though so he doesn't make it anymore.

I also want some perogis(sp?) damn those are good.
Something I really really miss is my church used to have a carnival every summer and my next door neighbor would set up with huge grill and cook corn on the grill nothing tasted as good as the corn on that grill.
I also want some Lobster ravioli, that shit was so good and also the most expensive meal I have ever paid for myself.
And I want to go to a restaraunt named The Wharf(sp?) in North Carolina it was all you can eat seafood and it was so fucking good all the lobster and crab you can eat..

nuts thanks for the spellings, its really hard to spell in other languages, esp when you dont speak them hehe. What is kiellbasa though? I dont think Ive ever had it. I also like gwamkey (again Im trying my best) its like rice and meat and tomatoe sauce stuffed in cabbage then baked. My grandma always makes it with just ground beef, I wanna try it with veal or something some time...

Kielbasa is a sausage. We would literally make several hundred pounds of it and give it to friends and relatives. Most of it we made with pork which is the traditional way I think, but we would also make smaller batches with veal and venison. I'm sure Chicago has some Polish markets where you could pick some up. Hillshire Farms also sells their version in supermarkets, but it's a joke to call it kielbasa and tastes nothing like it's suppossed to.
Golabki (gaw-WUMP-kee). The only reason I know how to spell these things is becaus I've tried making them a few times. They actually aren't very difficult, but I can never make them as good as my aunt does.
Another one of my favorites is bigos (Hunter's Stew). It's one of those dishes that is good either hot or cold, but tastes even better every time you re-heat it. It essentially meat and cabbage slow cooked for a very long time. My aunt uses boneless pork, veal, kielbasa and bacon in her version. You can use any variety of meats though (game, poultry, smoked meats) and the more you add the better it seems to make it.
