Hi guys,
For those who don’t know me here a synopsis of my poker career. I started with a deposit of $500 and made about $30,000 within 2 years playing poker part time. Thanks to the exchange rate this was quite a chunk of money.
About 18 months ago my wife and I went on a trip to the West Coast of the USA, got married in Las Vegas and honeymooned in Mexico. During this trip we visited many cool bars (especially in San Francisco and LA) and got the inspiration to open our own bar in Auckland, New Zealand.
After a long battle with councils and regulations we were finally able to open The Lucha Lounge 3 weeks ago. I don’t have many great photos yet but we do have a website www.luchalounge.co.nz I will post some more pictures from the inside soon.
Without poker I would have never been able to open this place debt-free because in the current economic climate we would have been denied any kind of loan and the bar could have never opened.
Thanks to the help of FTR members, Poker books and training websites I can now proudly say that I am a business owner. On this occasion I would like to invite anyone from FTR over for a drink. Now I only hope that we will become successful so I can hire staff and start playing poker (and of course post on FTR) again.

Thanks guys! Business has been a bit slow (apart from some really busy nights) but we got some great feedback. I promise to post some interior pictures soon which will be my 1000th post as well. Yay! My wife is already bugging me to play some more poker so that we can save for better furniture. Her confidence in my poker playing ability is unwaiving.
