I went out to a popular trendy hookah bar the other day and enjoyed it, so i went out today and dropped like 3 bills for this nice looking hookah and like 6 different types of hookah tobacco. I got it home and set it up and like it and all, but i think it makes me look kinda like a crackhead to have a hookah out in my house, it just doesnt really fit. Opinions?

it maybe makes you look like a pot head, but deffinately doesn't make you look like a crack head, I think that some people in this forum have a really bad understanding of drugs

In all seriousness though, hookahs are great. I have one (spent $100 on it) and I love it. In fact, I just finished smoking one a few minutes ago.

Erm. Salvia is a lot more potent than that. You aren't actually "tripping" on it. My guess is you are smoking some non-standardized 1x stuff that gives you a slight buzz. If you want to really trip on it, smoke an entire bowl of 10-20x salvia through a bong and hold it in for a good 20 seconds. Then you'll really know what it's like........

What I was going to say. No way you can smoke salvia out of a hookah and get more than a very small buzz compared to what it is capable of. Gotta smoke it out of a bong and--an important part that many people don't know--hold the flame over it during the entire time you're inhaling. Hold each hit for a good 15 to 40 seconds. Use at least a 10x extract. Take as many hits as you can before you lose the coordination to hold the bong or lighter (that's usually 1 or 2 hits).

Hookah's are everywhere and perfectly legal so I can't see how they make you look like a crackhead. People who don't know what they are sometimes raise their eyebrows but I've seen them in pubs/bars in the UK - not exactly mainstream but they're about.
So, no - you may be a crackhead but the pipe isn't to blame.

Yeah, I've had one for about 2 years and I love it. One of my favorite things to do is 4-table and smoke the hookah. I smoked cigarrettes for 6 years and I don't consider smoking a bowl of Double Apple "smoking". Gotta keep the pipes clean though...
And mine's a fairly standard $60 with one hose. Ain't gotta have the orgy hookah with all the hoses and shit to get a good smoke!

Maybe try something lighter like mint or a chocolate. If you smoke something heavy like a Double Apple and aren't used to it, it can throw ya off whack.

Make sure you clean it frequently. Too much ash can irritate the esophogus, which can cause stomach discomfort or nasuea.
Also, be aware that sheesha contains a lot of nicotine, which is a stimulant. Any stimulant can cause digestive irritation (especially in large quantities, which you tend to get when smoking out of a hookah).
