Id like to introduce you all to betty, black betty that is... I picked her up yesterday morning, and I am in love. Credit to my boy chris for naming her.

6spd rwd 4.4litre v8, I havent had a I chance to get on the highway yet as traffic was like a parking lot when I picked her up, so I just took the streets. Ive only made it to 4th gear, but this thing is amazingly fast. When I mash it I get pushed back into my seat.
Oh and I just figured out how to turn off the dsp (traction control) and it snowed yesterday but all melted today, so the roads(and empty parking lots) are all wet

12.9 before taxes and whatnot. My freind used to drive a e34 535i and has a trusted bmw indie shop. I took it there to get checked out before buying and he said it was in great condition, and he said I should get him to come down a few hundred. This is when the guy was at 13.6, and the orig listing was 13.95. So I think I did pretty good with the negotiations.

*sigh*, bad news:
It was a bit nicer out today, somewhere around 40° just wet, but still nice. I took her for a cruise down lakeshore drive, I got to downtown chicago and the clutch started to slip. Then I smelt burnt clutch, and then I got no grab in any gear. This sounds terrible, but it really isnt. I got a pretty good deal on the car, and if it is just the clutch, Its still not a bad deal. Also Im trying to verify, but I think illinois has a 3 day grace period. If I can verify this Im going to put a block on the check and then contact the dealer to try and work something out.
Like I said, it sounds bad, but honestly I just feel its a small bump in the road. I still love betty, and when this is all said and done Im sure it will just strengthen our bond.

also not to take a shit on your awesome car, but how is the interior? u didn't show any pictures of it, so i kinda assume considering the price u got that the interior maybe needs a bit o work.

interior is very clean. The leather is very nice still, it doesnt look new clearly, but instead of worn it just looks broaken in. You know, when it starts to look 'softer.' Oh and the passengers side back seat sun shade thing is broaken, but the dealer had ordered the parts and just got them in, I just need to schedule an appointment to have them installed free of charge.

Please to be finding a better mechanic. I'd be pissed if my mechanic didn't notice that the clutch needed replaced. That looks really hot though, I think black is a great color for BMW's.

Ive owned mostly manual cars. The clutch felt fine to me. There is really no way of knowing except opening it up, which would be retarded when just doing a overview of the car.
