In reality, women do not focus on looks as much as men do with women. I'm not saying they don't care what you look like but they would go for personality and confidence for the most part.
But you know, it doesn't hurt that you look good. However, if you're boring, shy or too aggressive, you're not going to have as much luck as you hope to have.
Anyway, the point is that a lot of guys get the idea that you have to shower the girl with compliments, flash your money, create a perfect first date, etc.
Women do not like when guys brag about whatever. Hell, does any of you like to hang around people who like to brag a lot? With compliments, you're not telling anything the woman hasn't already heard all the time, so it's kind of pointless. And as I said with the date thing, it's better to create a "friendly" atmosphere at first so she can be at ease and it will be easier to "make your move."

True. But here is a question then, why do women like badasses?
Why do they like the guys who are trouble?
And what can you learn from their approach that is +EV? |
1. Badasses are confident. Yea, it's cliche but it's true women like confidence. They do not, for the most part, men who they cannot respect. Can you respect someone who is not confident in himself or has low self-esteem?
2. They feel safe with tough guys. A lot of women like to feel safe with their man. I guess it's society that makes women the submissive part of the couple, so they like it when guys play their own part, be the dominant one and make them feel safe. However, this obviously does not apply to everyone. But then again, not all women like badasses like you think.
3. Some women like the "danger" that the "trouble guys" bring. It's exciting. You thought only guys get excited when something goes down around them? It's kind of like when a fight breaks out. You get an excited feeling inside you (unless of course you're the one fighting and you're facing a guy that can eat you).
Again, not all women like these kind of guys. These types of guys usually do not treat women with respect or appreciate how the woman feels. The "nice guy" as they call it do that, but then again the "nice guy" isn't as confident or as direct as the "badasses." That's another thing women like. They like when the guy knows what he wants and is direct about it. Don't beat around the bush because they will begin to lose interest or think you're not interested. I don't mean say flat out you want to f*ck her or confess your love to her when you meet her, but make your intentions clear.
Holy shit that was a lot of typing. Anyway, "badass" and "nice guys" are two extremes that are on opposite ends of the spectrum. It's best if you fall in between. Be confident and direct, but not arrogant. Additionally, respect the woman and show appreciation for her intelligence and feelings.
So basically you're taking the best of the two worlds: "badasses" and "nice guys."

Just stop here, because I agree with all this. I cannot figure out how you jump to your other conclusions based on this though. It's almost like you're trying to play both sides. Although I'd probably focus more on biological as opposed to societal reasoning, but that's just semantics in this context.

Unless you're deformed in some way, looks do not come into play as much as you think. Appearance matters more. What I mean by this is the way you dress, the way you walk, the way you talk, and even your facial expressions.
You want to dress nice, you want to walk with your chest out (but don't overdo it), you want to talk in a calm, deliberate manner (not be Speedy Gonzalez), and you want to look like a friendly, approachable person (not mean or weird).
Also, even though it sounds lame, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. There have been times in the past where a girl would say she thinks a certain girl looks good (i.e. Chris Brown) and I'm like "WTF?" It may be that they like his appearance (and moniez!) more than his actual natural looks.
Anyway, just don't think good-looks is end all be all when girls sleep with guys. But it doesn't hurt to workout and wear tight shirts

Honestly, being yourself is highly overrated. Isn't self-confidence/assertiveness an element of "yourself"? When girls say they want you to "be yourself" it just means "be more confident and forceful."
And Deuces88, you are definitely wrong that you should try to make her feel that you're just "hanging out" and becoming "friends." If girls get in the mindset that you're a friend it's very hard to change that and any advances after you've reached the FZ will be met with shock and disgust.
My theory on this is that guys are generally way cooler to hang out with than girls and that two girls tend to not stay friends for that long. Obviously there are exceptions, but from talking to my sister I know that she only has one girlfriend that she's known since elementary school while I've had at least seven close friends for that long. So, I think that when guys meet girls we are almost always looking for some kind of romantic/sexual relationship whereas girls often look to guys simply for friendship/companionship. The guys that girls will date or have sex with are segregated into a completely different part of their brains.

I know I should have clarified what I meant by the "friendly thing."
First off, let me explain that a girl will friend zone you only if you take too long to actually make a move. The "friendly atmosphere" is only for when you just meet her and up until your first hang with her.
Before the first time you hang out, she doesn't know anything about you. If you make it seem that you want to pursue her right off the bat, she'll treat it like a date and she'll have her guard up. She'll always be thinking if you're good enough to be with her throughout the first time you're hanging with her. Basically, she'll be expecting certain things from you.
If she does not expect it to be like a date and she thinks you're a guy that is social and like to have fun, she'll be more at ease. I mean who doesn't like to have fun hanging out?
But that just acting friendly shit is only to make her feel more comfortable with you. It's your job, during that crucial first meeting, that you escalate out of the friendly atmosphere and into a more romantic, serious atmosphere. Getting to know each other, making her laugh, being physical with her, flirty, and generally getting to a more personal level with her (physically and emotionally) as things go on. She also has to get a clear notion of your intentions, that you're not just looking for friendship. Being flirty and physical accomplishes this.
So to wrap it up:
-Be friendly when you first meet so she does not have any expectations other than hanging with a fun guy
-During the first meeting, make sure you start getting to know her, be more and more physical as time goes by and be flirty
BTW, the part of your quote that I bolded, IMO is nonsense.
