Post subject: How fast is your Internet?

There have been a few complaints about some of the robust graphics around here (both in my site design and in people's signatures/avatars -- which can be turned off in your Profile). So, I'd like to see what kind of connection you all have. My hunch is that the vast majority of you have broadband and the images are not a problem for most of you.

Whats the difference between DSL and Cable etc.
All I know is mines fast enough so as any load times dont bother me.

For example here we mostly have (A)DSL connections which mostly vary from 256kbps to 2mbps. I suggest you change to connection types to connection speeds.

No.. but 8 mbit
Oh and yeah, the site loads really fast so thats not a problem..the only thing that slowed it down was VQ's sig but I turned it off

Here in the States (at least, from my experience), cable modem is generally faster than DSL. When I switched from DSL years ago to cable, it was twice as fast.
