Mad question but how did you guys come up with your poker names?
WE got some good ones round here to.
Mine just came from the fact i liked the word 'miffed' (then i had to add a billion numbers on the end)

This is something I have thought of asking as well.
My story is this. When I was an exchange student in germany my spanish friends started calling us Finns, especially me, penguins because everybody knows how cold it is in Finland and how the land is filled with penguins  We were all all talking about "our pet penguins" and stuff and giving each other penguin related stuff, I got a penguin shaped lighter for instance.
Then 1 year after I came from Germany I started playing poker and I was really trying to come up with a c00l name. One morning I was watching a WPT video and I saw Paul "eskimo" Clark playing and there was it! My nick name was to be Pingviini which is penguin in finnish. I just connected eskimo and the penguin stories together.

I've been using realgenius as my online name since before the internet. It was my BBS name back in the day. I chose it because it's one of my favorite movies. Who doesn't love that movie.
It's funny though, not everyone realizes its a movie, and I get alot of people talking smack to me at the poker table because they think I'm some arrogant fool who actually thinks he's smart.......on second thought that may be true too. But you should see how many people ask me what my IQ is.

I used to use my 2nd name Marsh and was known as Marshy_UK but to me this sounded waaay to much of a pussy name making me sound like a teddy bear and completely un-threatening.
..So i had to think of something nice and original. I was gonna use LeoKey as thats the name of my two cats merged together but decided upon SinkRox which ironicly stands for sinking the rockets...
God knows why I named myself after one of the most annoying aspects of the game but the name just sounded good to me.
I also thought up my bro's name of Rascal_UK.

998 sounds like a badge number.
"LeFou" is just half of a pen-name I used when writing Me Head. The name was "Mattie LeFou"

As I first joined a counterstrike clan I had to think of a name. The clan was "KNIGHTS" and everyone had a name like "HolyKnight", "WhiteKnight", "HornyKnight" and so on ... I've chosen "BlackKnight".
After I left the clan I liked the "Black" part so much (favorite color too) that I stuck with it .. but I had to add something because the name "black" is taken on almost every site, board,.. So I added a "666" because 6 is my favorite number and "666" gives the "black" an evil touch. So "black666" was born and I used it ever since.

sndp is my first name sans vowels. Its been about 3 years since I consistenly used an online monicker. I use bigtune, or some variant of that now and again as well. It's just something me and some friends started saying a year or so ago. On stars, I just use my first name.

Mine dates back to around '90...
I was just out of High School and my recently divorced sister would have me watch my 2 year old niece while she worked. My given name being Tom, I reaaallly didn't want to be called "Uncle Tom" and my neice and I would spend the days watching Paulie Shore on MTV. We would often greet each other with "hey Buddy" in that stupid surfer tone and it just kind of stuck. All my neices call me UncleBuddy and hence my screen name.

Well back in't day i was well into football and Leeds Utd happened to be alright back then so i called myself leedsruletheworld on various football forums etc. However leeds now approximately suck and i doubt that name would even fit on PP. My current name is the name i gave my character in Knights of the Old Republic. When i came to choose an online moniker i just stuck with it, although it does sound a little arrogant. Oh yeah my first name is Ash in case you were wondering.
I also use the name schism as well cause it sounds cool and i like tool.
