How to Count Cards for Poker Players

It is very difficult to count cards when playing poker. However, it is possible to do and casinos will actually eject anyone caught counting cards. Put your best math skills to use and try counting cards during your next poker game.

Step1

Practice counting constantly and memorizing the cards you see. The two main things needed are an excellent memory and a "poker face," so the other players don't know what you're doing.
Step2
Take a mental picture of the cards face up on the table during games such as Texas Hold 'Em and Seven Card Stud. Keep these cards in your mind. Remove every visible card from the deck of cards you are imagining and counting in your mind.
Step3
Commit to memory the cards each person plays. Concentrate on every card play and do your best to keep a running total in your head. Every time you remove a card from the deck in your head, you are a little bit closer to determining the cards left in play.
Step4
Figure the probabilities of anyone making a full house or four of a kind, by reviewing the cards left in your imaginary deck.
Step5
Fall back and don't bet big while you are still getting a feel for the way the poker game is going. Once you figure out how the cards are running, you can start making larger bets.

I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Ohhh... No wonder I'm not crushing 200nl yet.. FTR amazingly decides to leave this little gem out of all of the digests. Thanks for finally posting this so I can learn to put my opponents on a full house or four of a kind..
