Well, I think technically it's possible for anyone in any country to fire up an NFL team. Not that they would, but they could. That sort of thing.

'Course I know precisely zip about (American) football.

We have pro American Football players here in the UK.

Just a little deductive reasoning. No football team in the world (by that I mean American Football) could take the field with the NE Patriots and have a prayer of even making it a close game. Hence, the term world champions.

Hell, I'll even throw the Eagles out there against any "world team".
Send lawyers, guns and money - the sh*t has hit the fan!

Nice idea. Although the travel expenses would probably require a Russian Zillionaire to finance the whole operation.
Not sure the other teams in the NFL would be up for the away games though.

That is true but their teams do not play in the NFL. Is there still some sort of European league?

That is probably true but the NFL is by definition a "National" football league and winning it doesn't automatically make you World Champions.

For example, Arsenal FC won the Premier Football League here in the UK last season without losing one game. I don't believe any other team in the other leagues around the world did that last season. Does that mean they were the best team in the world?

I don't mind the Arsenal reference (too much) but mentioning the "SCUM" in the same post as Liverpool (Best team in the world BTW ) is sacrilege.

Alright, I admit it - you're right. Even the Arsenal fans here in the office aren't very up beat about them having any boucebackability.

You'd better hope the bubble doesn't burst when you next lose a game.

Roll on 2005/6 season.

Of course, always like to see Hells Bells on a Saturday morning.
Don't get the opportunity to watch it all, what with the kids demanding my attention these days. I really miss the Third Eye's.

Doesn't that Lovejoy and his obsession with Chelsea get on your nerves...Oh wait a minute...why am I talking to you?

, I love it.

Funniest thing that's happened on it for ages was a few weeks ago when Fenners 'accidently' knocked out Lovejoy. He was concussed for the rest of the show!

How? With his nose?
Damn, missed that as well.

I heard that one of the Soccerettes performed a "Sunnie" live last season. Did you see that? I missed it, although I also heard it might have been a joke.

I've no idea, sounds true enough though

Fenners and Tim were doing one of those sketches before the soccerette came on, and in it Fenners was supposed to pretend to punch Tim, but he actually DID punch him in the face.

Well in the context of playing anyone in the world. There isn't a team in NFL Europe, Arena, or Canadian Football League who could beat the Patriots.

Although I've always been skeptical about the whole "World Champion" phrase. I think the only real "World" games are the Olympics and the World Cup in soccer. But the Olympics suffer because of its amateur status. I think the world cup is legit as far as soccer goes, but do the best players always play for their respective team? Take the so called Basketball world championships. We (The USA) can't even get our best of the best players to play for us all at once. Not since the first time the olympics allowed pros to play. And with the talent level evening up around the world. Without the cream of the crop, the USA is no longer a "Lock" to win it all. Which is a far cry from the days we used to kick everyones ass with just our college players.

I'll agree. It's hard to have a world champion if the world doesn't compete. But in the case of American football. The Patriots are truly "World" Champions.

Ain't that right Rilla' ? LOLOLOLOLOL, How did Cowher like coaching the Pro bowl?

Ha, probably meant it. I'll have to try and catch the end of session "best of" show.

Agreed but until you've actually played and beaten the other teams around the world, it makes the title a bit hard to swallow.

It depends, once you've played in a proper competitive game for a country (rather than a friendly) you can only play for them in the future.
Some English born players have been known to play for other teams. You're eligible to play for any country that your parents or grandparents hail from.

Not really. Totally comfortable with it. There is not a team outside the NFL capable of beating the Patriots. And even the teams that did manage that this year couldn't do it twice. Right Rilla'?

Please reread my post. I said "OUTSIDE THE NFL" , and the teams that did beat the Patriots (ie: Steelers and Dolphins). Couldn't do it twice. Both teams split the season's meetings. So what's your point.

And let's be realistic. Outside of a freak play by Brady. And the decimated secondary of New England. Was the Dolphins win really that great? It was the end of the season and N.E. was coasting into the playoffs. Historically, the Dolphins always seem to be the team that is the achilles heel of other teams achieving a loss record of one game or less. Remember the Bears Super Bowl year? And I believe it was one other year they upset some other teams perfect season. They have a knack for doing that.

Rilla' I love you to. My you get a tick on your nutsack!!
