Going good. After about 1.5 yeas, 3 surgerys, and about 25k, I think is about what it all ended up being, I seem to be back to normal. I went skiing about a week ago. My leg didnt give me any problems so I think im like 99.9%. Or as close as Im gonna get.
Glad to see your back.
Ive only made about 20 jumps since the crash because the 3rd surgery took me out the end of last season and the 2nd took me out of the beginning. Just didnt heal for like 6 months or something is why I needed the second surgery. The 3rd was just to get this super annoying giant screw out of my hip that kept agitating stuff. Now all thats left is the rod which is near impossible to get out now, but I can't really notice its in there for the most part since its in the middle of my femur.
Seems like so long ago all that happened. Im so glad that part of my life is through. I dont have any constant pain or anything for the most part and im so used to everything now, its almost as if it never happened. I still cant sit indian style or put my right leg up and rest it on my left. Something just got too messed up in there and will probably never come back. A girl my mom works with broke hers 18 years ago and still cant.
Everyone tells me I run like a retard too, but thats life. Kinda sucks cause I could run like an olympian before this happened. Now my technique is so messed up I doubt I could run a mile before my back or something started hurting. Oh well.

The anesthesia is worth more than the surgery. You can have the anesthesia without the surgery, but I don't recommend the surgery without the anesthesia.
|
Kool moe said that in the thread. I hadnt read it since I last posted in it. I just wanted to say I had my last 2 surgeries without any anesthesia. Though I dont recommend. It was gonna cost me like 700 bucks for each one to take out screws so I said screw it and just suffered.
The worst by far was the hip one cause it was like 4 inches long put in diagonal through my femur by the ball. They even scheduled that one for getting knocked out after I said not to because they said it was gonna be terrible if I stayed awake. I said I wasn't paying for it so they didnt do it. Well I figured the next day when the screw was still out of my leg and I still had 700 more dollars in my pocket I'd thank myself. Which I did. But it certainly was terrible. I figured he would use some sort of drill crap, well it felt like a hand screwdriver and he slipped several times, or at least it felt like it, then would start again. Probably took about 2 minutes from starting to back the screw out until it was all the way out. Just like the grinding sensation in/on my bone was driving me crazy.
That is the only time in my life I actually seriously felt like I was gonna pass out. I didnt but I came close. Even when I broke my leg and it was in 2 chunks next to me I never came close to passing out. The knee screw was probably only an inch long, and even though that one hurt too, it was nothin like the hip. They gave me shots in my leg, and even though it was supposed to numb it, which im sure it did a little, it sure as hell didnt feel like it. Anyway just wanted you guys to know what a bad ass I am lol. I saved both screws and if someone wants to buy either one they are for sale for ~2300 a piece, the cost for taking each out of me.
Oh and a funny funny story about that surgery, though it sucked at the time, was when these 5 female nurses were around me, and the male surgeon. First of all why they need that many nurses I have no idea but im sure I had to pay for each one. Anyway, the doctor pours all this weird crap on me where he is making the cut in my leg. Well Im not sure what it was, but I do know that he poured way too much on it and went down and covered my nuts, and oddly enough, after about 5 seconds, it actually felt like my nuts were on fire, and the surgeon could tell and said whats wrong. HAHAHAHAHA it was so weird with all those chicks around me but then I just said it "It feels like my balls are on fire" and he wiped it all off, but man that crap stung.

Hey guys, I have also returned, though I joined slightly after Toasty.
What I want to know is what is the word you say to someone on a table who is also from FTR, last time I was here it was LIVEBOON but as most people don't even know who Boon is anymore ( I think) I imagine it's changed.
Edit: And what did you do with Dwarfman???

Ah, old school, thanks.
And Boon, coming from a country with free healthcare the concept of having a major op without anesthetic had never really occurred to me, that is insanely hardcore. Glad that's all behind you.

Wow, thought I might get 1-2 responses :P
Boondock, man that is fucking amazing news, I'm really happy for you. I said you were blessed when it happened (for surviving) but to come through it like it never happened, you're one lucky mofo.
thank's for all the holla's too, lots of people I remember, surprised not to see Henry Fnords name though telling me my post was -EV or something and I should have played it more aggressivly.
Well, I've been stuck playing World Of Warcraft, man that game is like crack, pretty much i went to take a few months off poker as my game was in the toilet (3 tabling watching Southpark for the loss). It lost the fun, so I took a longer than expected break but I'm back and I'll be returning soon, need to investigate about rake back a/c or somthing.
Pretty much I'm planning on a small $500 investment to play $10 tourneys. no more than 1-2 at a time, taking the time to get player reads etc and actually having fun.
I'll let y'all know when I start playing.
Man it feels great to be posting here again.
Oh yeah the scary ass clowns were mine :P

Boon - that is crazy, didn't know you did that w/o anesthesia. Glad you've pretty much recovered. You da man. You crazy, but you da man. I was telling Xman the other day FTR should sponser a SpearmintRhinoament.

Hi Toasty! Nice to see you dropping by!
Boon - wow, that's crazy shit without anesthesia... so does that mean you don't have that gimpy Kaiser Soze limp anymore when you walk? That's too bad, you were bad ass strolling down Las Vegas Blvd. like that!!! Hey man, hope you're doing well.
