Anyone else find it kind of funny how there is a google search box at the top of the page?

Or how he is already discussing plans for using the left column for advertising space?

I'm an internet marketer myself so I'll let you guys in on a few things before this gets out of hand.

Putting a google search box on your web page (especially one of this size and with no real point to it) is only to make profit through a share of profit in google's adwords program. My guess is Google Adsense is what is going to be appearing in that left column. To those unfamiliar, it's just another part of Google's advertising, where Adwords ads are placed on independant websites.

Trust me when I say this (I have no proof, but just believe me), there is no bet with "Mr. X" about cutting off his finger. It's just a ploy to get a very substantial amount of visitors to his site to use the google search box and any future advertising on his site. It's really pretty clever too...

I agree on calling bullshit here.
But on a side note, a buddy of mine did have his middle finger shot off when he was 12 in a dove hunting accident. His dad was handing him the gun and it went off, You really only notice it if he makes a joke about it. He put on a golf glove one time and made some comment about it just didn't quite fit right, so everyone turned to look and see the middle finger slot empty, funny as hell. I am kinda attached to my fingers, but 1m is tempting.

Basically visitors would have to use the google search bar AND google advertising for him to make money off that, but there's a lot of potential. Ads would have to be clicked on. I think his real money maker though is the pokerroom.com affiliate link. I've never looked at this exact one, but poker site affiliate programs are, at least every time I've ever looked at one, very lucrative. The thing about poker traffic is it's very expensive to buy (ie. on google or other search engines), but it generally has a very good payoff, which is why sites which get free poker traffic like savemyfinger, flopturnriver, etc., generally do very well.

I lost part of my left index finger in an accident 9 years ago when I was 18. I have pretty much no feeling in it and don't use it for much ie: tying my shoes or opening a bag of chips or anything. It's not as bad as some would think, you get used to it pretty quick. Since i lost part of it for nothing, I'd sure as hell give the rest up for 1 million!!!
