My computer has some sort of glitch, like a stutter, anyways, it's forcing my clock to slowly read behind. Also, videos are unwatchable due to the annoyance of the video glitching every 2 seconds. That's the main problem, playing poker and watching movies is very difficult.

Anyone ever have anything like this happen before, I've tried some computer forums, and they've been helpful but I still haven't solved the problem.

CMOS battery eh, will that affect performance of my comp or just the battery.

I just spent 45 minutes with Dell support, Bob from Pakistan wasn't too helpful all he concluded was that I need to flash my BIOS and for that I needed to charge my laptop battery, my laptop battery is dead, has been for a year, I just use the AC charger.

Erm.. unfortunately I cant give much more detail than my post above, all I know is that one of my housemates had this problem for months, we tried everything before eventually one of our "techie" friends took a look at it and said that it was due to the CMOS batt being knackered.

Sure enough, a trip to the shop and a new battery fixed it.
