I'm pretty sure I know who's behind this (hilarious) troll to my business email. I want to re-level them, but am not feeling particularly inspired.

The business is an underground restaraunt, or supper club. Look it up on wiki or google if you're interested, or ask away in here and I'll give you some details. The business name in the email is censored because I don't know if I really want people to google my business and be linked to my FTR account.

Quote:
Hello [Business Name]:

Before I state the intentions I would like to introduce myself. Hi, my name is Freddrick Bareas, but around camp they say to me "Peter." Since the age of 11 I have dedicated the practise of my life to food (more detailed "fine" dining) My sources around my camp have told me all about the [Business Name] and I have smiled with impression. I am impressed. However, I am told that the quality of the food is higher then the service. OMG. For this two reasons, I will help you. If you decide to expand on our relationship, I can assure that there be NO MORE complants about servise in the [Business Name]. I am professional so I expect the same from you [Business Name]. I understand the next dinner will be next month. Howeevr, we must meet before. For training. I have worked in fine dining all over the world. I am known by many in Buffalo, NY. If you know anyone in Buffalo ask about me. "Peter from La Cabana" They will tell you how great I am. I have included a photo of me taken in the summer of 2009. I am very good at balance. and I know all of Australian wine. Also wine from Chile, which is in South America. The [Business Name] is actually similar to an idea I had while interning with Giovanni Richardi of Tito's. My dreams left but you brought them back. I have electricity when I think of our potential. BTW I am soooooo fun to hang out with. I dance all the time and tell pretty good jokes the ladies say anyway. So Email me back with you picture so we can think of a time to meet in Ukranian Village [this is a neighborhood in chicago ldo] this weekend.

All the best,
Freddrick "peter" Bareas
And heres the pic he attached.

The picture is of a man by the name of Bernard-Henri Lévy, a french journalist/philosopher. The person he mentioned "Giovanni Richardi (Riccardi?) of Tito turns up nothing much in google, save for this Giovanni Ricciardi .. could be coincidence, but its got the name and is about (the biblical) Peter. When creating pseudonym's people often reference the bible, so maybe that's all there is to it.

[edit] this is the closest I could find to the name he goes by, Lico Reyes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Not really sure how that ties into anything though.

I haven't really picked up much else from what he wrote in the email, but each sentence makes me lol, so I think I need to come strong with the reply. I'll need a picture too ldo.

Oh and I was thinking about saying something along the lines of "I am barely able to see your hands, but nonetheless I can tell they are very supple, yet masculine, a combination of features of great importance for serving in a fine dining atmosphere."

Any additions/suggestions on the response or if you notice any references in the initial email, that would be awesome.

I'm not sure how abrasive I want to be, but I really do like all of this. Maybe I'll save it for the finale. Initially I want to show some interest and kinda come over the top.

Put him on a leash and take him out for a walk...

You could start by requesting further information about his expertise in some funny way. For instance say that you need a wine expert and ask him some detailed questions that require elaborate answers and subjective judgement. Then you can ask if he could acquire some rare wines for you. Maybe ask if he is willing to travel somewhere to inspect that the wine farmers don't have outhouses in the immediate vicinity of the grapevines.

nice, and I can tell him that as an acting partner in [Business Name] he will of course have to pay for the cost of travel upfront, however he will be compensated with his choice of [Business Name] stock options, or [Business Name] branded apparel.

We are working on getting a website up. [BusinessName].com is currently taken, but expires very soon and does not look like it will be renewed. Currently we are just using super simple business cards with the logo on the front and [BusinessName]@gmail.com on the back.

As for if its a real business or just a hobby... not quite sure I know yet. At the onset it was definitely just a hobby spawned from a conversation over a few beers with my friend and now business partner. But I am taking it pretty seriously, and can definitely see something "real" coming out of this.

Do you use skype or gmail? I'd love to chat about supper clubs, and the possibility of you starting one in London.

I linked to wiki in the OP.. it does a decent job of explaining what the business is. If you want me to elaborate on that, or if something isn't clear, just ask.

edit: I did not link to it, but I did suggest looking it up... here's a link for the lazy.

ha... there are some ok aussie wines, just as there are some decent south american wines and even south african... but come on.. first off, the idea of knowing "all australian wines" is funny because of its absurdity, and then there's the fact that hes bragging about being so familiar with one of the lesser recognized nations as far as wine production goes.

Well I think it's pretty commonly accepted that you guys export way too much (variety, rather than total quantity) meaning that there's a lot of shit in with a small amount of decent, which means knowing your way around Australian wine is 1) probably a bad thing and 2) ridiculous 'cause of how much you churn out.
