I need to get LIVE going.
I bought a 50ft ethernet cable, i plugged it into my 360 and into my desktop tower. my tower has two internet jacks (we will call them). One is occupied by a ethernet cable that runs to my house router (which has no empty ports.
I used to get live by hooking in the ethernet into my laptop and using the wireless signal, but its a hassle so i do this instead
but its not working. I figured my tower would feed out the internet via the ethernet port - clearly doesnt. do i need to configure something?

i think the things in the back of you computer are only for going in not sure tho. i think u have to take the ethernet cord and have it come out of your modem thing/box or w/e you have and have that go right into your 360.

Doesn't the 360 have wireless capability also? (with an addon?) Why not do this instead of a 50 ft cable??
As far as having your tower acting as a router, it is not plug and play, and there is for sure some configuration that you would need to do. There are too many variables for me to even think about attempting to try and help over the internet. Probably will need someone to physically come to your computer if that is the route you want to take. ( I would seriously consider going the wireless route if available)
