Ok,

I have been suffering with a 17 inch flat screen for a year. I can play 2 tables with minor over lap by mimimizing the screens and putting them at opposite corners. To do this i have set my screen to the highest resolution of 1280 by 1024. I would like to have to have no overlap however between the 2 poker tables and would like to set them side by side. And suggestions?

no my knowledge there isn't any software that will resize a window...

however, prima poker network has a minitable view (i wouldn't recommend going there tho...cuz there have been horror stories of them stealing tens of thousands of dollars from high stakes players)

ulltimatebet also has a minitable view as well.

with both of these sites you can have up to 6 tables at the same time with no overlap.

Shell out the 1k or whatever for 1600x1200. Put your old monitor next to it.

I run 4 tables w/ PlayerView on my main screen with PokerTracker and the Lobby on my secondary screen.

Thanks for the replies. I just have an emachine that i bought about 1 year ago from costco, i works great, just i figure the video card or something will not support any upgrades to a better monitor. I really just need a company to build me a dual monitor system or something like that. Any suggestions?

I have a 21 inch CRT that goes up to 2048 x 1536. It EASILY fits 4 tables. These should go for $200-300
Goal for 2005: $30k
So far: $31k

Yes but an older machine with a POS video card won't run that resolution..

 How computer savvy are you Soupie? You can purchase a decent video card like this that will allow you to manage mutiple displays or a single display with high resolution:

It is a simple process of opening the case, plugging in the card to the PCI slot, pop the drivers CD into the CD Rom drive, and voila...follow the instructions to set up multi monitors or set a new monitor (like the suggested 21") to the maximum resolution. If you are happy with your computer...and mainly use it for poker - for $500 or less you can upgrade the monitor and video card and be perfectly set for multiple tables.
The other way to go is look in the yellow pages for a small computer store. They will gladly build a custom setup for you with dual 19" monitors....or whatever you like. A custom rig is not as expensive as it sounds....you tell them what you want to do with it, they will spec the parts and it will cost you in the neighborhood of $100 in labor (depending) for them to build it for you. I am A+ certified and would gladly do it for you, but something custom like that is probably best done by someone local...there are always a few "bugs" to work out initially...and if there are issues they would be able to service it quickly.
You could get a dual 19" LCD setup like this:

Thanks Dave,

I know what i am buying with my next big tourney hit. That is outstanding and tax deductable.

So you are saying i can pay you to build this for me? Just make it play poker baby, thats all i want. I dont think you can upgrade these emachines, nor would i really want to. It works great, i will turn it over to the kids.

I have used local computer stores before and will not again. Everytime i get cheap machines that were very buggy and ended up in the dump within 2 years. One actually had a fan that was so loud it sounded like a vacuum cleaner.

So do you a business phone number or something?

 I manage the Carolinas Invisible Fence office and take classes at the local TechSkills. I'm working towards Cisco certification and a career change...after 10-11 years I am a little tired of Invisible Fence and managing people...anyway all this to say that computers are not my profession at this point, but I will gladly help you....or build you a PC for free (no labor). It is fun for me and I would be honored to help you out any way I can (you have certainly done a whole lot for me)
I have built 1 PC for I.F. (the one I use here at work) 1 for my wife's web design business and my own personal PC at home. I am fully capable, but obviously not the most experienced pc builder out there - just wanted to be clear about my experience so you can make an informed decision.

2 things to keep in mind...

What is the max resolution your monitor will allow. And make sure your graphics card can do such a resolution.

I right now own a 19' LCD flat panel Viewsonic monitor with a max res. of 1280 x 1024.

Yes I wish I could go smaller but I can fit stars and party poker beside each other unless I have irc up or something. But thats why alt+tab is there for.

allinone thanks for that post I am going to give a shot of that multi desktop once I return home.

That dual desktop is a sweet set up the hr department at Devon Oil company uses them and they love it.
