First of all, im new to this forum, ive been lurking the site for the last month or so ( since I got interestet in poker ) and found lots of good advice, charts and interesting discussions here in the forum.

So today I decided to join in, both because I wantet to say hello, and because I had a question I didnt see answered anywhere else!

Okay, since my introduction is outta the way, on to the question:

When should I move from 1$sngs to 5$ sngs ??

History: I startet by depositing 300$at ultimatebet, after playing a few days of funny money games, I though I was pretty elite, so I startet playing at the headsup tables, quickly loosing 275 of my dollars =D By that time I figured I was doing something wrong, so I decided to try some other games, I found the penny tables but ppl were playing extreemly crazy there, so I didnt like em. Then I saw the 1$ sngs and it was love at first sight!

Since then, ive gone from 25 to 65$, only playing 1$sngs, back to 25$ when I tryed out the penny tables and the 5$ sngs a few times. And then back up to a 100$ after a week of grinding 1$sngs.

Now yesterday and today ive played 8 5$ sngs, got two wins and six outta the money positions. And im wondering, should I grind a few more 1$ sngs to build my bankroll abit more ? Or should I just get on with it and take the 5$ ones from here on out ?? The thing is, even though im making alot more money from the 1$ sngs, I feel like im learning alot more from the 5$ ones. I just dont want to run into a strike of ten losses, as I have done before, and be back at 50$ or so. thus having to go back to the 1$grind.

Heres some stats:

11/1 10 SnG -4$ -0.4 PG
12/1 14 SnG -5$ -0.35 PG
15/1 5 SnG +1$ +0.2 PG
16/1 8 SnG +2$ +0.25 PG
17/1 13 SnG +2$ +0.15 PG
18/1 3 SnG +8$ +2.67 PG
19/1 13 SnG -5$ -0.38 PG
20/1 8 SnG +7$ +0.88 PG
21/1 11 SnG +11$ +1 PG
22/1 8 SnG +6$ +0.75 PG
24/1 12 SnG +7$ +0.90 PG
28/1 2 SnG +1$ +0.33 PG
29/1 4 SnG -4$ -1.00 PG
30/1 2 SnG +1 +0.5 PG
31/1 5 SnG 0 0 PG
1/2 5 SnG +7 +1.4 PG

Total 122 SnG +35$ +0.29 PG

After the first of february, I played maybe 50 more sngs, averaging about 50 cent profit per game. I havent recorded em above since I was away from home during that time =)

Okay, guess thats it! Now let me hear what the pros got to say !!!

Welcome to the forum.

I'll take a stab at your question, though I am far from a pro. Let me direct you to 'rillas excelent post on bankroll management here. In it he recommends 12 to 16 buyins for NL tables. I think that works well for SnG's also, but perhaps you might want to get it up to 20 to be extra safe. So it looks like you are about ready to move up.
I built my own poker table... Check It Out

Thanks for the tip, ive read hes post too, im just wondering cause sometimes when I played the 1$ sngs, I could do 5 maybe 8 games without making a top 3 position, if I did that in 5$ sng's, with a 100$roll, ill be back to maybe 60$, at 60$ I wouldnt wanna pay 5$ per game....

But ya, maybe ill just play em and see what happens =D
