Hi guys
More of a reader than a poster but wanted to join up and say well done on the site. This forum is a wealth of information and FTR was one of my original stops on the road to poker stardom.
I don't really have much of a story. I started playing on advice of a friend about 4 months ago with almost no previous experience of any gambling and was pulled into the game very fast, wanting to learn and become a great player. Of course knowing that $60 billion will be gambled in online poker this year will catch the attention of a lot of people.
I started off losing, of course; although I don't feel I was ever a loose passive/aggressive player, just needed experience in my reading and analysing of situations, I guess. According to poker tracker I am a profitable player in the time since I started playing, although after 2 losing sessions today my ring game profit has dropped to under a dollar!
My goal is obvious: Build a bankroll. I don't want to be withdrawing each time I double my deposit as previous and I don't want to even consider it as having a monetary value. I believe I need to start my bonus whoring career very shortly also.
I was wondering at which limit everybody plays, and whether NL is their game. Perhaps reasoning for this choice. I have come to the conclusion that the easy money should be in NL games as it is widely broadcast for all to fall in love wtih.
At the beginning of today I was around $70+ for 4 months, and at the time of writing I figure to be closer to $20+ including tournament winnings.
I believe that this forum can make me a better player. If for no other reason than having other players to share ideas and information with, which I don't really have now. I will try not to tell bad beat stories, kthanks.
Enough of the rambling. I am looking forward to spending time here!

Welcome. Everyone who's posted in this thread plays NL primarily. I tend to hang out at the $0.5/$1 or $1/$2 tables (I'd call them NL$100 and NL$200 respectively, but I generally buyin as a short stack, so that's a misnomer for me). I've also had some pretty decent success with SnGs, where I play anywhere from the $20-$50 level.
If you pay attention to the tips of the veteran players here, and keep your head on your sholders, you'll end up a good player. 9 months ago I was excited about being up $0.75 from playing the penny tables.
