The dunk competition has evolved so much in the past 20 years. Remember when Kobe did the first between the legs dunk and everyone was like omg. Now it's nothing.

I saw the whole thing and was really disappointed with Moon's failed pre-free-throw line attempts.
Howard was so sick and entertaining. Candle was awesome. Didn't see Kapono win it for the raps! damn it.... youtube please have it....

yea but I mean, damn, dude just got way up there.
I was also a little surprised they didn't mention more that he just threw it in, but basically that's the only chance he had, I don't think he could've palmed it that far from the rim, held onto it, and still made it there.
Either way, it's awesome watching a 7 footer fly like that.

Interesting replay on youtube of him practicing. His buddy tells him to hang from the rim after one of the dunks and he shows him why he doesn't, his feet almost touch the floor.

Candle was very creative. The dunk itself was gay, but the creativity boosted it a bunch. The superman one was just amazing, and it was still technically a dunk since the definition of a dunk is just "to force the ball through the hoop from above" so the haters can back off  . Every one of Howard's dunks were ridiculous really. The 1st one from behind the basket was my fav I think.

agreed except i thought all of dwight's were fantastic and original. the one from behind the backboard has never been done before and his last one with the mini-hoop was sick because most people start their windmill motion right after they jump, but he had to wait until he grabbed the ball to do it. but ya the candle dunk was gay - creative but gay.

that is a good point spenda. it just looks boring compared to others, but it is pretty amazing to jump that high. but i guess we can kinda compare it to the superman dunk. howard just jumped really really high and really really far. it wasn't really fancy at all. ok so i take it back. candle one wasn't gay lol.

same with the dunk on his socks, hard to do, but doesn't look so... Howard was more of a show all the way. his first dunk was the sickest imo.
i think Green should've saved the candle for the final, just as the one on his socks, now it was almost the same dunk twice in a row.
Superman dunk was just great, although I doubt it really qualifies as a dunk , but who cares  also fun to see him run away all hyped up and dissing his teammate who tries to bump chests with Howard :P
