Those are classics.
Other random 80's movies I loved for some reason: Flight of the Navigator, D.A.R.Y.L., and Toxic Avenger

man D.A.R.Y.L. (Data Analyzing Robot Youth Lifeform) brought some memories. I think I might of had a copy of it for the Sony BetaMax.

Monster squad = the kids fighting frankenstein, mummy, dracula and a werewolf all in the same movie? loved it.
They had the Toxic Avenger in a video shop I was at the other day, but I decided not to buy it in case it's not as awesome as I remember.

An old skit from SNL:
Norm MacDonald: Let me ask you something?
Stallone: Hmmm?
Norm MacDonald: What were you thinking when you made "Over the Top"?
Stallone: What?
Norm MacDonald: "Over the Top"? I mean, you had to arm wrestle a guy for the custody of your son for god sake!
Stallone: Just save your energy!
Norm MacDonald: I mean, did you actually get that script and go around telling people, “Hey this is a good one!”
Stallone: Oh come on just drop it. Please!
Norm MacDonald: No. No. You're right, you know, it was an excellent movie now that I think about it. After all, you know, it does combine the emotional drama of a... of a custody child hearing with a... arm wrestling!

I guess you are only pretending to like Over the Top if you don't remember that song. Sly will be over to pummel you soon.

"John Wetton, lead singer of the rock group Asia, sang "Winner Takes It All" for the movie, but after performing the song, it was felt that his voice wasn't "mean" enough, so the song was offered to Sammy Hagar, whose version ended up being the one on the soundtrack."

I remember really enjoying comedy in the eighties. The second city crew was fucking funny. Even the goofy stuff that came out then like Meatballs and Revenge of the Nerds was half decent. Most of the comedy that I see today is total shit. Borat...WTF was that?

I'd be surprised if more than 5 people on this forum have seen this classic 80s movie.

Yeah I'm a bigger fan of the 80s comedy than today's comedy. But are you serious? Borat was so funny! It's the first comedy I've seen in a long time that had me laughing that hard.
Most new comedys do suck though. Like those Scary Movie type films. Those are just awful. The youth of today definately got stuck with the lesser Wayans brothers.
