I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.

Happy bday!
When I opened this thread, I was about 50% sure that spoon was going to post "the picture".
Then I thought about it and realized that's not really spoon's style, witty comments are.

Yea the guy who said I could move in on Jan 1st... and gave me a key... reneged.
So I'm torn between hauling ass and finding a place by Dec 31st for my GF and I to live, or just living with my parents for a month and taking my time to find a good place.
Pros of living with parents
A) No rent
B) Free food
C) Free booze
D) More time to find the right place
E) More time to save up to *pay* for the right place
F) Treadmill inside my room
G) Lots more space to store all my shit
Cons
A) No sex life
B) Sleep in a different room from girlfriend
C) Feel like a total failure
D) Have to deal with constant "When are you going to get a real job?" shit.
E) A little far (30mins ish) for GF to drive for work.
Intellectually, I know living with my parents rent-free for a month is kinda a no-brainer. Just... want to be a big boy now.

You won't "C) feel like a total failure" if you pay your own way while there. Free food and free rent is what makes that feeling possible. Everyone has had to count on someone once in while, and the parents are no exception, just don't freeload. Paying your own way would also help with the D) Are you going to get a real job questions too.

I understand the "get out right away" mentality. My (now) wife and I moved out immediately after landing our first jobs (we were both living at home up to that point). We "couldn't wait one more month" to be out on our own together, and we ended up fine. That said, we had an awesome opportunity to move into a house that a friend's dad was renting, it was nice and super-cheap, so we couldn't pass on that. You, on the other hand, don't have something set up quite yet....so my advice would be to wait (what's one month really?) and find a good place to live before you rush into a 6-12 month lease you'll possibly regret, which could cause problems down the road.
I'll be the first to understand if you guys go out on your own, though.
GL and happy belated birthday, you son of a bitch.
