So I was on the fence about buying GTA (didn't own a PS2 so never really got into the series) but the IGN review just came out and it got a 10/10. It's only the 3rd game to ever receive a 10 from IGN, the other two being Zelda: OOT and Soul Caliber. I was going to buy Mario Kart this weekend but now I'll be picking up GTA instead.

good choice, but Im not sure I see the relevance of IGN's rating system. I never played zelda, but soul caliber.. I mean why does that get 10/10? I guess a 10/10 for its genre? Cuz its not comparable to nearly any game outside of its genre...

tektag is the shit, but unless you are judging games only in comparison to other games in their genre, I really dont see how a fighting game can have a 10/10.

Yeah it's coming out for both PS3 and 360 on Tuesday. I have both systems and I'm getting it for 360 since the 360 version is getting still unknown "exclusive downloadable content". Also I have more friends w/ 360s so I can do the multiplayer with them. If all my friends had a PS3 I would get the PS3 version instead. Really the only difference is the downloadable content and since no one knows what that is yet it could suck or be awesome.

I know therse multiplayer but I dont remember reading much about it at all. I was thinking If I had the money Id probably get a ps3+tv+gta4 since the ps3 is a bluray player. But now that I think about it more people I know have 360's and therefore it would be more fun to play online with them. However Im guessing the online component is not that big of a deal since the single player is the big draw to the series.

IGN gave it 10/10, Official Xbox Mag 9.5 and Xbox world 360 gave it 98%. Game of the year? Could even be the best game ever.

Gametrailers gave it a 9.8/10. It talks a bit more about the multiplayer than the IGN review did.

dont use stars. Stars rips your FPPs off bad on electronics. More +EV to just clear the 650 bonus and go buy it.
