Hope you didn't take your day off yet. The release date is actually April 29th.

I want this sooooo bad. But I cant afford a ps3 or even a xbox360.
It would feel too weird playing it on 360 anyways.

Got this on pre-order. Amazon were also delayed in dispatching my GT5 prologue so they've given me an extra £3 ($6) discount on GTA IV

Ive got so many other priorities, but its so tempting to squeeze this in somewhere. The only problem is I wouldnt be satisfied playing it on my current tv. Its a 27" crt. So it would cost me around 1500 to get things setup :-\

One of the first things I did in that game was drive my car straight north into the ocean, then get out and swim to Vegas (sounds weird to say that). I got the standard wanted level and was gunned down swiftly, but it was still great for the two minutes I managed to live. The great thing about that game was how it had this sense of vastness to it - the map really seemed enormous and unconquerable. I'm sure there's still a few places I've never laid eyes on.

same here, after beating it i would simply cruise around in my custom slamvan and gamble on horses, i think i brought my in-game credits to like 1/2 a billion without cheating and for absolutely no reason
vice city was really cool too, the only modern GTA I did not play enough was III. I beat it and all, but I had a really shitty videocard back then (think 8MB) therefore I do not recall it at all.
I also got the OSTs of both Vice City and San Andreas

The soundtracks were almost the best thing about all the GTAs. They introduced me to some really great music - I have bought probably 10-12 CDs by bands that were in those games. My favorite is Scientist, the dub/reggae producer who did all the reggae in GTA3. That stuff is awesome.

yah the music was insanely good.
One thing I didnt like so much about SA was the "roleplaying" parts. Like having to eat, having to work out. It was def cool at first, but it got old after a little while.

K-JAH, K-DUST, K-ROSE, SF-UR FTW!
sadly SF-UR was ignored for the OST..
and yes, the role playing was not so good. it was a fun addition though.
they needed to add more clothing etc.

GTA is by far my favorite game series.
I think I've completed all the games so far (the main/misson part that is). I recall when the first game came out and you sat down with that huge freedom. Mindblowing at the time.

Just get gift certificates and go buy it yourself. Or you could use the concierge service. Just email and ask them if you can concierge it.

I drool over that game...lol its way bad that im buying a console just for one game... will be bit late getting it though as I still have to get an xbox or ps3 to play it as all the funds have to come out of my poker accts. which just got emptied out(withdrew a bunch),so Ill probably wait like a month or two before withdrawing again.
Im also thinking of getting a projector to replace old tv soon as well so its gonna be sweet playing it too... Anyone got a projector instead of a TV? hows that working out? I mean I have an old projection tv right now that I want to replace, so when room is extremely well lit I kinda have trouble seeing shit too, but dont know if it is going to be much worse with a projector, so if you got one- share the knowledge/experience plz.

ya, skip the projector. The res is going to suck balls unless you can fork out some serious $$$, then theres the issue of light pollution. You can get a decent sized 1080p tv for a really reasonable price.

uhh... no...
the resolution is lower and the native aspect ratio is 4:3, which means in 16:9 the resolution is even lower! Oh and its listed on the link you gave from 3.9-5.4k$ ...

lol yea 5k for a projector is a def overkill, euph(unless you got a home theater room obv).
it does save tonns of space , which is the whole ponit of geting the thing in the first place, but if your spending that kind of money for the resolution, get a plasma panel(or lcd..whatever is in nowadays)

Put it this way, I got a massively badass projector for less than what boost spends on watermelon and grape soda in a year.

Edit: I was going to post a funny picture, but then I realized it's not so funny.
This reminds me of almost every time my dad enters a conversation. It starts off talking about, for example, the fact that it was raining yesterday. Two seconds later I'm being asked if I "ran over any niggers swimming in the mudholes in the road". It's totally abrupt, uncalled for, and very telling of where your mind is at any given moment.

Tj is kinda right, Im not deeply upset about this, but thats just because I didnt exactly expect more from euph. However I am offended and think its sad that he would go in that direction. Im not saying that any sort of joke involving race is crossing the line, but the flow of the thread just didnt seem to warrant this.
I probably could have been more polite in my post, however I made very good points. When responding you made no good points and made a racist stab at me. I guess what Im most offended about is the fact that your plans are to have a career in law enforcement. Oh and youre a mod...

also, frankly, I think Euph's comment would be much funnier if it was in a much more light-hearted sense, but we know that these two have history and that he was doing it to be hurtful.
But, for-fucks-sake, why should we really care? It's the interweb, he's allowed to post shit like that, and frankly, it's just par for the course. Don't get me wrong, it's unfortunate that it is, but it's just not any more offensive than 20 other things we read on a daily basis online.
