I'm just trying to see how many we have that like to play golf. It doesn't matter if you play competitively or just play to get away from a nagging wife or to drink beer with the buddies.

I started to get into golf earlier this summer, really frustrating but awesome not that I'm getting better. Just need to find more time to hit the driving range. And get some confidence with my driver...

I voted yes because I used to play from time to time. However it has been awhile since I've been out there.

I suck, but I have tons of connections at local golf courses here in Vegas... so they drag me out to play every so often. It's always fun to play at "private", member-only clubs. Most employees at private clubs get free golf (I know a guy who temps at a very exclusive club here just so he gets the perk).

I like to have a drink or 2 but not until around noon so there have been times when I did 9 holes in the morning and didn't drink until afterwards.

badandy519, you remind me of my friend Glen on one of our golf outings. We had a morning tee time and on the way there he stopped at a convenience store(at around 8am). I asked him what he was doing and he said "getting beer"

From one of the Chiefs I had in the navy:

I went to play whackfuck this weekend.
You know... "whack..........FUCK!"
So the way I play is there's 18 holes, so I bring an 18 pack of beer.
One beer per hole. That's why they make 18 packs.
I don't understand these guys who try so hard to get low scores. It is expensive to go out there on the course. If Idon't get at least 100 shots in, I don't feel like I got my money's worth.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

Are you sure that wasn't me stopping to buy the beer?? We had our annual company summer picnic at a golf resort a few years ago.... and 3 of my coworkers and I decided to get an 8am tee time as the picnic began around noonish. Well, the 4 of us killed a 30 pack and a 12 pack before the round was over and then it was on to the all you can drink beer on tap at the picnic that lasted until around 7pm. Combine that and being around your coworkers the entire day... that makes for a LOOOOOOONG day!
