Last week we had a GO CHIEFS thread in the commune and the Colts owned the Chiefs, so I think it's important to put a jinx on the Ravens, too.

my 2nd cousin is Brian Billick, the coach of the Ravens and i still want my beloved Colts to win. I tried getting tickets for the game from him but it was too short of notice to do anything. Damn.

If you want to go that bad, why don't you just shell out the $250 and buy a ticket off of eBay? It's not THAT much money, you'll have a blast and you won't regret it, especially if you already know other people who will be there and you can tailgate with them.

that is a good idea, but its hard to justify paying that when i could get free tickets in a suite if I had thought about it earlier. Also, i am buying a car now on saturday and need to stay in town.

The Chiefs weren't jinxed, they just weren't a very good team. Colts/Ravens should be a great game.

I don't see this being a very close game. I think the ravens are overrated.
Also...the pats/chargers game should be nothing short of amazing. The chargers will be as good a test as the patriots have had in the last 5 years

I like your analysis, you've obviously spent a lot of time thinking about it from each angle. Research Peyton Manning in tough playoff games against very good defenses. You'll be singing a different tune. Hell, Manning threw 3 picks last week against a team that wasn't even blitzing 25% of the time.
I also feel the NE/SD will not be that great of a game. Tell me how SD can win this game if NE shuts LT down. Trust me, that's what they'll be working on all week. Philip Rivers loses sight of Antonio Gates way too much and he's truly the player that could hurt NE's secondary.

Two words:
Bill Belichick
It's easy to shut 1 person down when you do not have to worry about anyone else. Some teams have been content to let him run wild, I do not think the 'Pats will be.

Well I won't claim to be an NFL expert because baseball is definitely more my sport but being a bostonian and watching from afar (sportscenter, fantasy football etc) to me the ravens remind me of the bears a little bit and I don't see a ton of superstars on the team...hell I'm probably wrong about the whole thing cuz like I said I've watched maybe 3 ravens games all year and I feel like they've been playing over their heads.
And I agree with you about Peyton but for some strange reason I feel like it might be his year even with the colts terrible defense...they stepped up last week and if they can do it again I think they can win that game.
If the pats shut down LT and score more points than the chargers I'll guarantee a win

If anything, the Ravens are underrated. I've never seen a 13-3 team that was talked less about during the season. Also, the key to the SD/NE game is Phillip Rivers.
I think the Ravers have a very very slight edge over the Colts and it will be interesting to see Colts O vs Ravens D. I also think the SD/NE game is too close to call.

I think you could make the arguement that the Seahawks are better than the Eagles. Also, when Rex Grossman is having one of his 1.3 QB rating games, the Bears are also one of the worst. When Grossman is having a good game, they are one of the best.

The eagles are playing well at the right time though...Garcia does have a certain fire inside him (amongst other things) that I didn't expect to see.

As long as it didn't come down to them having to score within the last two minutes...I've seen a bunch of their games in the last two years where I've noticed that they have the WORST clock management I've ever seen...

Colts will be able to score on Balitmore. I believe they can score on anyone. I don't think Manning will be fazed by the Baltimore D. The only truly tough defenses he has struggled against are NE's defenses. The Jets shellacking was when the entire team decided the game was supposed to be Sunday and not Saturday, so they didn't show. The Tennessee game was his first trip to the playoffs. Against Pittsburgh, he struggled in the first quarter, but what truly lost that game is that he forgot that he had a running back, and never ran a single delay/draw/screen to slow them down. When they did run the ball they were fine. I am not worried about him.
The question will be, as it has been all season, will they tackle, or run themselves out of every play so J Lewis gets 170 yards? Or will they play solid D? Not as solid as last week, I think that was a fluke. But if they hold Baltimore to 20 or less, and keep TOP reasonably close, they will outscore the Ravens.
GO COLTS!!!!!

This is the first game of the year that I've ended up watching by myself at home, and it's not as much fun that way, but oh well. Colts have gotten a few breaks and are ahead 9-3 and they're getting the ball again to start the second half.

I think he's a little bit fazed by them, because he's trying a lot of tricks like the flea-flicker and the early snaps to catch the defense off guard, instead of just trying to exploit the defense systematically. He looked great toward the end of the half though and hopefully he keeps it up.

Bob, you're on drugs if you think the Seahawks are better than the Eagles.
The Eagles have been playing great ball for the most part, and if they beat the Saints, they're going to the Super Bowl.
Also, the bears are the worst 13-3 team ever. EVER. k, probably not that bad, but not that impressive. rex grossman will die soon.

that game made me vomit. Mostly becuase i have a flu, but shitty game.
The Saints game rocked hard. The almost blocked punt into a 1st down, the hit on reggie bush, the runs by reggie and deuce, the deep throws the the eagles, The one DB number 22 on the Saints getting juked out of his fucking shoes and right on his ass. The late bush fumble. Sweet game.

keep thinking this and get back to all of us next week. This is by far the easier game between Indy playing the Pats at home of the Chargers in SD. While i really wasnt rooting for NE (it will be a cold day in hell before i do), it was nice to see Indy get a chance at the easier game.

this is hardly Manning being quoted that hed rather play the chargers. He is merely stating the obvious.

Id like to see the colts play the bears in the superbowl, but i would rather them play against the saints for a better chance to win. I also think colts are more likely to win at home against the pats then in san diego and LT.
